Sidewinders do well at radar run on Saturday.

Went to a radar run on Saturday.
Good day for Sidewinders and an Apex.
800' groomed snow/slush.
35 degrees.

Only 3 sleds over 90 mph.

3. Apex 92. 7 mph

2. Sidewinder XTX 97.2 mph

1. Me on my Sidewinder BTX
99.4 mph. Thanks Jimmy Zuccone, Todd Zuccone, and Kyle Fritz for the EVO Stage 3 flash. Also thanks to Lonn Peterson and Thunder Products for making great clutching products. Fastest sled all day. There were 4 850 doos there and none broke 90 mph. Top speed for them was 89.2. There was also a 1000 cat with a price motor and his top was also 89. ? Mph. Great day for Yamaha as there were over 100 sleds that ran.

It looks like radar runs are the Grinders forte. Don't try a 500-600 ft drag race without some serious traction and suspension work. You will get your clock cleaned. By the time everything is rolling the race is over.

Yep. I was spinning until about 200' with my 2 1/4" track. You could tell when it hooked. Made some good trenches though. Lol

That's awesome grinders are clock cleaning in radar runs racing against themselves. Racing against other sleds in 800 ft things like traction, acceleration and most importantly et are the deciding factor on who wins.

LOL......yep I hear ya. So a hooked up Doo would put 5 sleds on you or more
and in that distance even tho you were faster he would spank you. The ones I saw at St. Germain left good. I trenched down through the ice and there was lake trout behind me. Sigh

I don't know what the other winder had. I think it was stock but has a lot taller gearing and a 120# rider. The guy had his wife run it. I go 240#'s with my gear on. . I had 9000 rpms on mine and am stage 3 EVO. My BTX Le has low gearing as I was into overdrive to pull 99.4 mph. I gear out at 97-98 mph at 9000 rpm.

I roll raced an 850 from 20mph. It didn't go good for him.

When I ran him from a stop. Even trying to modulate throttle, it was no use. He would leave me by 2/3

I think the heavier 4S turbo will need more help from the dig.

Big end my speedo 120
His sled was 109

Really bad conditions for both of us. I'm thinking my sled has the capacity to max out my gear. So speedo IND. 122/23. I'll find out in better conditions this year.

No Sault Michigan. Local club does a radar run every year for fun and to raise a few dollars. Strip is groomed in a 1/2 mile long field. They use 800' for the run and the rest is shut down.
