I tried my fun button (launch control) once in a race at St. The other sleds were coming back and the guys were removing their helmets. I still hadn't moved......lol
My viper had launch control for asphalt. Tried it on snow. Didn't work for me either. Dug a big hole. Lol.

Shagnos, when you going to put some real studs in that sled and address your transfer issues? Or is it more fun to complain about how bad you get drilled out of the hole? You know this is like putting a bike tire on your hot rod cars. As for the stutter button, without traction and transfer , your just going to trench even worse.

You are right. Gonna install new picks and use these on my wife's sled. Time to man up and quit being a bitch. Transfer blocks are gone, backed off front shocks, cranked up front skid shock. 1.50 picks.Shagnos, when you going to put some real studs in that sled and address your transfer issues? Unless I put my drag radials on my cobra I get spanked by a Prius while I melt asphalt.
Not long enough. Run 1.64s, just stay out of the center of the track. Also, make sure your installing Studs that actually penetrate, like INS Hornets, Woodys Triggers or Stud Boy Lake racers. Don't, I repeat don't run anything but one of those 3. 4 per paddle, see pic attached. Then suspension wise, like you said tighten up center shock about 1 inch. Let limiters out all the way and remove blocks. I promise you, it will be a totally different sled out of the hole. You are right. Gonna install new picks and use these on my wife's sled. X 2 Trailable at all? Looks brutal.Going to give this advise a shot.
Trail manners?
Trail manners are great. I'm running Ski Doo Pilot 5.7 skis with 7.5 shaper bars in the center, and 4" on the outside. I've run Hornets for a very long time and my buddies can never seem to figure out why the get killed out of the hole. Then I tell them to run these and end up skimping and running something cheaper or something that doesn't penetrate. For what CB performance sells them for, it's a no brainier. Also, the Stud Boy power plates work the best with these studs. Bruce will sell you the exact amount of Studs you need. Here's a link to CB performance, Bruce is a great guy to deal with. http://www.cbperformanceparts.com/studs-and-backers/roetin-products/roetin-ins-hornet-studs-1-64/

I beg to differ...It looks like radar runs are the Grinders forte. Don't try a 500-600 ft drag race without some serious traction and suspension work. You will get your clock cleaned. By the time everything is rolling the race is over.

Shagnos I also think it would help if you find better avatars. They seem to be getting more disturbing as time goes on!
For those that are removing transfer blocks, are you putting anything in their place to protect the rod? Or are you leaving it metal to metal?

For those that are lake/drag racing you can pull the blocks, but for aggressive trail running I would not recommend. We have now seen several 137 units fold over top edge of rear sisor arm stops and blow out bump stop on the back of rails in a short time.
What's best for the track is not always best for the trail.
My 2 Cents.

2012 Nytro XTX 1.75
Cut that 2.25 down to 1.75 and it will leave out of the hole like an animal my 1.75 na nytro killed my BTX LE out of the hole, cut the track down to 1.75 and it's a new animal! Fun factor is amazing switched to 2.5 out west and it was awesome the right track for conditions is key!EVO stage 3 and Thunder products clutching which I've been running for 2 years (turbo viper) and helped do the testing on. Also 2 years on asphalt with the viper. Uncoupled skid leaves the line way faster than your coupled sleds. Weight transfer like you wouldn't believe.

Transfer and hookup are everything in any kind of drag race.

Only when you have good traction is when you can use the launch control. It does work on hardpack snow. But the conditions Shagman had was very loose, freshly groomed snow.....stutter wouldn't have worked.
Yep that 89 mph 850 probably would have spanked Shagman's 99mph Grinder in a actual drag race.
Nope.... Not in 800'. I offered. They all declined. One was sitting at half track checking times to there. Remember I'm geared low. 9000 rpm is 97 mph geared out. I had to pull overdrive to get to 99.4.
24/50 gears 3.0 pitch drivers.

Went to a radar run on Saturday.
Good day for Sidewinders and an Apex.
800' groomed snow/slush.
35 degrees.
Only 3 sleds over 90 mph.
3. Apex 92. 7 mph
2. Sidewinder XTX 97.2 mph
1. Me on my Sidewinder BTX
99.4 mph. Thanks Jimmy Zuccone, Todd Zuccone, and Kyle Fritz for the EVO Stage 3 flash. Also thanks to Lonn Peterson and Thunder Products for making great clutching products. Fastest sled all day. There were 4 850 doos there and none broke 90 mph. Top speed for them was 89.2. There was also a 1000 cat with a price motor and his top was also 89. ? Mph. Great day for Yamaha as there were over 100 sleds that ran.

Thanks for the update. I raced last Saturday with my Sidewinder RTX 129" on a 1000' shaved track. I got 106.7mph and finished 2nd to a XF 1100 turbo that was modified. Had a new ECU unit installed by Turbo Dynamics in Canada. The guy pulled 117 mph and claims the sled produces 300mph.
