How do they work on a 2007 RTX? I dont want the steering to be really hard but still want good control. People that have used them please state what you liked and disliked about them.

I tried them for one day and they came right off. Bad handling on the hardpack or ice. Steered very hard for me overall. Tried the 6.9 pilots with added outside carbides yesterday, and like them very much. They need heel pressure to get rid of the darting though, just like the stock skis with doolys. I would not go back to the simmons or precisions again with the new pilots out. That is my opinion on it.

Been running them since last season and they work great on my 07er with the air float shocks.4 inch inside and 4 inch outside for carbides. My opinion

Simmons on Apex

I just put about 150 miles on them and I can say that they are way better than the stock skis. The darting was totally eliminated, tracked well and held the corners. Yes they are harder to turn than the stock skis, but I'm coming off an RX1 with these same skis and they are much easier to turn on the Apex than the RX1, so I think I'll be fine. Can't give any feedback as to how they compare to other ski brands, just between Simmons and stock skis.

I can't speak for the simmons but I purchased the Slydog Powderhounds and love them. Easy steering and great handling on and off trail.

Good Luck,

Brad

I agree. I have run them for thousand miles bthis year and tonight the stock skies are going back on. They will not turn on hard pack and steer way too heavy. The only plus i see is they look good and float on the snow well.

My sled is an 07 GT. I have only 2 rides (300 miles) on the skis and I am still adjusting to find what I am looking for, which is razor sharp handling. I would say they are an improvement over stock, but I am not crazy about the push I get in the corners, I was strongly considering a deep keel agressive ski like C&A's, but someone convinced me that this was a better option. The jury still has yet to reach a verdict.......
I dont find the simmons to be heavy steering, but that is just my opinion.

Not to hijack the thread, but what bolt hole is everyone using and what are the results of using either hole?

wow....what if you get caught on some train tracks or something?

they look dangerous

The fact the ski's bank hard in a full locked turn has to be Simmons best feature.
Push? You mean like plowing straight ahead and into the brush and stuck deep with stock ski's? Reverse had no effect that day.
They have to be better than stock.
I see the kids cross country skis. Chop them in 1/2 and try those.

skie

i have used alot of after market skies, first i'm 60 yrs old, i don't ride as hard as i use to still like to get it done, in corners i slow down now.
i'm working with val from simmons on some problems, when at high speed
letting off it seems to dart, he is sending me 6" carbides to try, also trying
a few other things, he is willing to work with you, if you ride balls out they
may not be for you. i live in the u.p. of mich, they float better then most.

I am studs so I am not worried. If you are not studs and you got ice under the track, it will do the same thing as if you had the simmons skis on, (you will be lock in place). That can occured even with the stock carbide.

My opinion
