i just picked up a used set of these skis and was wondering(have tried them yet) if they just bolt onto the spindle w/out any rubbers or anything. also will an rx1 saddle on the ski work onthe apexs's? i looked on the simmons web site but no help in the info i need. thanks. :rocks:

rx1/srx/vector/apex/sx/viper/vmax all have the same lower section of the spindle. skis will bolt right on.
phazer/nitro spindles are the same width but use different rubbers.

if you skis didnt come with rubbers use your stock ones with a shim of lexan or other hard plastic under them. for those skis you will want near 0 balance front to back and very little tow out. put your best carbide on the inside, it is the one that does all the work.

these skis work very well on and off trail, they require alot of effort when riding slow twisty trails.

just to give you a heads up..they have different saddles for different sleds...yes they will work with whatever yamaha saddle you have but if you are concerned about heaviness (too much ski pressure) you might want to call and get the right saddle for our heavy fourstrokes..
the newest saddle has two mounting holes ..fore and aft..

well they came off a heavy rx1 so i assumed they would be the same weight +,- a few lbs. so you still have to shim the ski even w/ these skis. just checked the skis and they say yam v on them single hole. guess i'll have to play w/ them this winter to dial them in.

Cal Val SImmons....
he'll hook you up with the right mounts..not a big deal but you'll be glad you did!

you bet!

also...little pointer for ya..

1.) they have some little brackets that mount on the inside and they throw snow into the skid for better lube..

2. ) If you want more bite..check out shaper bar carbides...i run 6" inside and out.

Those little brackets for better lube work very well. 1900 miles on a set of hyfax since installing them instead of 600 miles per set of hyfax before. In addition, never saw the overheat light come on after installing these.

yea i saw those snow scratchers, i thought it would be a nice addtion for sure. but havent heard from as of yet.

didnt come w/ directions to which hole to use on the new brackets but assuming its the front one??

well i put them on but had to knotch out the rubbers to fit the front holes hopefully there right . lol :jump:

actually it should be the front holes i beleave comparing the new yam-v2 vs. the older yam-v brackets. if i was to mount them in back holes they would be inthe same line as the older 1 hole brackets. i mounted them in the front holes so we'll see how they work.
