The front shocks are the stock shocks that came with the sled.Back looks OK , the wrong length shocks on the front or something, its slammed.![]()
The only thing that I have changed to the front is putting JRE Spindles on. When I bought them I was told that the sled would sit a little closer to the ground. Besides the possibility being greater with hitting stumps and rocks is there any other issue I should be looking into with this?
I'll look into getting that strap pulled up! Would you suggest looking into setting the front shocks to a stiffer setting? I'm not even sure if they are able to being that its just the standard GT shocks.Almost level a-arms, pull that strap up one more in the skid and it would be a trail demon!! New skid may have a lot more weight on skis. So common to see springs set lower in front. I may tear down an old set of Elkas I have and try a dual or triple rate in the front on stock shocks. Would probably sit that low idle. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!!
Yeah thank you! I'll be taking the skid out again at the end of this season and I will definitely be saving this to try it out your way to see how it works. Thanks for the tips!I'm the guy who posted to put the sled on its side. It's much easier and you can do it yourself. You roll the sled on its right side so the oil doesn't come out. I put something under the right handle bar end so it didn't roll all the way over and a quad tire under the tunnel to lift the back up. You slid the skid in the track at almost 90 degrees to the sled and bolt the front of the ski in first. Upright the sled then bolt the rear in. I didn't even have to ratchet the skid down but easier if you do. I did use a ratchet strap to pull the skid forward to line up the rear bolts.
Clear as mud?

Hey Dalton. Them stockers aren't adjustable. Adjusting the spring itself only changes ride height. Adjusting your strap/shocks are all personal preference. You may not even have to touch a thing at all. Your track looks nice and even along the snow.
Jus get out there and ride her like she's stolen!!![Stick Out Tongue :p :p](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

I should have noticed the spindles as they are a different design, I was going to buy a set. 2" drop or 1.5

You'll like it. I fought and struggles with mine trying to get the front part of the skid to go in. The first time it took me 2 hours to get it in. Doing it on it side about 30min.
Hey Dalton - Sounds like you re-installed the skid in the OE mounting locations. When the JRE spindles were first introduced, I remember the designer saying that the mount locations for the front and rear skid arms should be higher in the tunnel. Not saying it's necessary, but I think you'll find that you will be a little front-end heavy on trail, possibly causing some heavy steering and darting. If you were to move the skid higher in the tunnel however, you would likely experience less darting and with those spindles, you'd be able to rail in the twistys.
