BombaPolaYama I'm not being gleeful at someone's misfortune..
If you read the first post doo has a recall that the sled may catch fire do to a fuel line rubbing on something I forgot what it rubs on (I couldn't care less)..
The point was that the doo guys seem to think its not a big deal.. It's a big deal when you are riding and you got to get off your sled and start running because your sled is on fire
As long as nobody gets injured on these bombs..
BombaPolaYama don't take this the wrong way..

I completely agree. I told my buddy with the 750 turbo about all the problems that polaris was having with thier 4 strokes, before he bought it. He still bought it. There were a few of them around here and the guys couldn't keep them running. When the one tried to trade it off for a different sled at the same place he bought it, they wouldn't take it back because it was a P.O.S, his words, not mine. These things are a man made mechanical equipment and they can all fail, even yamaha's. It just baffles me when there are known major issues with certan sleds, or any thing for that matter, and people ignore them and buy them anyway, and when things happen they wonder why. Yes, I feel bad for them because I wouldn't want to be in that position either. But in my case I couldn't help but thinking "I told you so". Yamaha 4 strokes are proven to be reliable engines and thats why I have 2 of them. Can my engine blow up or sled burn down, Yes, but from past track record of all the major brand sleds, it is less likely to do so. Bottom line, it sucks that anyone has to have mechanical problems and I do feel for the guys that do. I am quite proud that my sled has just shy of 15,000 miles (not that much by yamaha standards)on it and could beat both of my buddies turbo 4 strokes (AC T660 and Polaris 750 turbo). They both had a fraction of the miles I have and both engines were blown this year. My personal opinion is if you want a sled to run with the 1000cc engine sleds, then buy a 1000cc engine sled. Not a smaller sled with turbo. The more moving stuff there is, the more things to go wrong. Just my opinion.

No not at all, I knew I'd have to take some flack for my rebuttal but that's fine - it is just the tone of this and other posts that seems to go a bit far. Like
and
and "guess what colour it is" and "it's a pos" type stuff.

Good point, that's one thing I don't like either is bashing. Makes for a bad forum. Here a ty4stroke things are kept clean and friendly and I like that. Instead of bashing other brands we just brag up our yamahas
