interior wheels are shot on it.In front of the front shock in skid.theres 2 exterior and 2 interior wheels in front on the skid.Dealer suggested i check track tension.1.5" of droop with 20lbs.probably gonna do extra wheels on it too.

are slides covered under warranty?

No there not covered under warrenty. Time to stock up on about a dozen pair for this season at this rate. Imagine if the conditions were bad. On my second set i gave a guy a ride for a mile or less in good conditions and the plastic was wearing like there was a grinding wheel on it. Unacceptable!!!! Open windows maybe made it worse.

You might want to read this thread about hyfax wear and what you can do to make them last longer. On the RS platform, you should be getting at least 1,500 miles out of a set of hyfax in decent snow conditions.

sorry to confuse u,i just noticed u are runnin a 2010 vector.u prolly dont have same skid set up I do.Im ridin an 06 nytro, same issue though.Has anyone tried using an "arctic grease".when i was over in Arcticchat.com for my zr800,some guy put small holes in his sliders and put a cold rated grease in it.So as i wore down grease was pulled out to reduce wear.Amsoil makes "arctic" grease.Just dont go down "sanded" roads.

Just try running your track looser then Yamaha recommends. When I put my first 20 miles on my 2010
under good conditions I noticed Plastic coming off the slides even though they didn't overheat. You will also hear front sprocket noise and vibration at slower speeds from the new drive (extrovert with involute sprockets). I also don't think they tested this as it robs top end speed big time.
I have the Vector Ltx. At a 100 miles I already notice
the right extrovert sprocket getting gouged. It seems
like this extrovert/involute combination is fighting itself.
What are you getting for top speed? The best I got
so far is 90 mph. Twenty years ago with a 90hp sled
I was clocked on radar doing a 105 mph. Now with
130 hp only getting 90mph on the dream meter there has to be something wrong.

That makes me wonder if the extrovert drivers are creating more heat on the track clips inturn heating the sliders up more and wearing faster. I havent pushed it to find top end yet. Trying to break it in easy.

It's not the extroverts.
Try a search on idler wheels, in particular, larger ones. They will definitely help. An extra set on the rails will help too. This has been covered many times, you aren't the first.

I have been reeding a lot on this subject and iam sure larger idler wheels and more idler wheels would no dout help But would also put undo strain on the rail itself and in the past have heard about cracked rails. It seems the 2010 vector is much worse this year with the changes to the skid. Just trying to find out what caused it to get worse.

I had a 2008 Vector Ltx and I can tell you it had a lot more top end then this 2010 with a more powerfull motor. So something is robbing power big time.
Just try loosing your track some and it should help a bit
for slide wear.
