sliders appear to be wearing fast at front of skid. Trying to not ride on too much ice but is this a common problem on these sleds? Any tips ? Only has 650 km

I have 5900 kms on mine and I would say sliders are 80 percent and I ride a lot of ice and low snow. That said some run low snow wheels and slightly oversize wheels to minimize slider wear, I believe to address exactly the problem that you are having. I should add that it is a widespread observation that initial slider wear seems much faster and that the plastic seems to harden or temper in the beginning of their life cycle and the subsequent rate of wear is significantly slower. Welcome to the site.

Thanks for the info, with more research it may be that they wear in to a certain point and then the remainder is slower? I will keep an eye on them. Lots of good information on this site.

I had the exact same issue with mine. Mine were down to almost nothing on the front bend at 800km. Added low snow wheels up front, clipped all the windows and adjusted the track looser than factory as they tend to over do it. I have never understood why they only clip every other window except as a cost savings.

Is the idea behind clipping every window that more clips distribute the weight over a greater area, therefore less pressure, less pressure then less friction, less friction equals less heat. It seems that severe slider wear is more melting than abrasion if I understand this right. Whaddaya think Moooseman?

I think it's just a smoother surface and glides better than on rubber. It's something that a lot of guys were doing that were complaining of slider wear and I just threw everything at it to stop it. Only thing with the low snow wheels is that they will be spinning real fast compared to the others and will wear out the bearing sooner. I've lost a couple over the years.

I picked up a set of marginal snow wheels. I will add theses and keep an eye on wear for now.
No sign of snow around here any time soon, so working on making a storage box for rack and protective screen for rad.
