I never did like the Yamaha Steering rod ends and always thought they could have done a little better in that department. Polaris and Doo and Cat have nice beefy rod ends but whats up with the Yamaha's.

In light of my dislike for the rod ends I installed Sno Tec's steering kit on my RX shorty. The kit came with some real nice aluminum steering rods drag links and some last forever aircraft quality tie rod ends. It took me the better part of 4 hours to install the complete kit but now I have tight accurate steeing with little or no play. And besides the kit looks way cool.

I installed one of these kits on a 98 700 XTC that I use to have. The sled now has 8400 miles on it and the steering still has no play. I hate sloppy steering.

I spokw with Bill at Sno Tec and he is working on Ski Spindle bushing and bushings for the steering arms inside the engine compartment by the battery.
