OK, for a 600 ft run, how many studs and type of track. I think the 1" Hacksaw track with 144 1.325 or 1.175 studs in my Apex. Or do I go 168 or 192 studs. Remember this is on snow. Any sugestions

You need a 1.375. Your wasting your time with the 1.175's.
I ran 162 in my Attack and it hooked like a monster. I have .75 track with 1.080 Roetin hornets. In my opinion the Hornet is the best stud for drag racing on the market!!!

Actually, I meant to say 1.325. But on a 121" is 144 enough for snow drags.

144 at 1.325 or 1.340 will be enough on a 1 inch track. You could got 192 the only thing is I would make my own pattern that had all the studs in the center belt. You could ever look for a 168 pattern that utilizes the center only.

Unless you are racing strictly on hardpack forget the Hacksaw track! There's a reason it comes on some Phazer models stock! Go with a Camoplast 9830 if you must have a 1" lug track. I would run minimum of 144, probably 168 down the center.

I like the 9830 a lot as well. it's a great track. It works well in loose snow as well as hard pack.

All of the non sanction racing are done in groomed fields and on a sanctioned event up here, they are all on Hard Packed snow. Our drag strips that they use for ice drags and snow drags are plowed with a Grader, so they are extremely hard. Why would someone race in soft snow or powder. Studs would not be an issue then. It's more about the track then and if that was the case I would leave my ripsaw on it.
Thanks for the info....

The snow drags I've been to most after a few rounds the starting line gets fairly chewed up. The lug on the 9830 will work alot better in those conditions than the Hacksaw. Just my .02
