Talked to my dealer today, asked if he had seen any info on any snowchecked sleds,he had not,but when he went to investigate things,he found out Yamaha was holding most of them for a reflash,he did not say why or what the reflash was for,but just a thought, maybe Yamaha tried to sneak a lower than advertised hp SW out for better warrenty reasons, and than heard all the rumblings from us hard core Yamaha faithfuls, when we saw low hp dyno numbers on sidewinders and higher numbers on thundercats, whats every ones thoughts on this?
Most are being delivered ahead of normal. Never heard of this.

Yes sir it is very doable at dealers,if this is true, than I can see why not hold the snowchecks that are still at TRF and do them there, and be done with it once and for all,as it does cost them more money to set up dealers and have them take the time for everyone that sled by before it came out. And like you,i hope it was a thorn in there side, because of the cats having higher hp numbers, right out of the gate.

But the Cats dont have higher crank hp numbers. They ALL vary as do dynos, conditions etc.
If there is reprogramming going on at factory and thats a big IF the reason is some snafu in the programming not the mapping itself. They are not allowed to alter that without EPA approval. Something that takes a long time to get. Even sticker on tunnel would have to be changed. The Cat and Yamaha programing is the same except for the Cats needing a code initially entered immediatly after sale. Maybe the line accidently put some of those in Yamahas. I saw that happen in a Viper.

We just got back from the epping grass drags and I was in the Yamaha tent and spoke with brian our northeast rep. both guys said they had heard nothing about any reflash happening at the factory,so it must be some bad info from someone at my dealers shop.
