I hit a tree last year on the right front and wiped out the a arms and shock and broke the bulkhead. The total cost for parts was $5000 and labor was going to be $3000. I had a 07 apex and I received a little less than half the price of new. You will be in a little better situation though. You can buy it back and do the work yourself. I would recommend not rebuilding it because you don't know what else is wrong with it. It might not handle the same if you repair it. Some others might chime in and give there 2 cents worth on this also.

Given the value of your sled, I doubt there is enough damage to total it. Repaired correctly, it will ride and handle the same as it did pre-accident.
If totaled, I recommend (this is what I did after an impact with a deer totaled my brand new Attak in 07) buying it back from the insurance company. I recieved full replacement value and purchased an identical sled as was totaled. I then wrote a check for around $2500.00 to buy the wrecked sled from the insurance co. I parted it out and sold the good parts for about $8900.00 total. Ended up netting around $6400.00 befor factoring in my time to dissassemble and market the parts. Again, IMHO there is not enough damage to go this route. Unfortunatly, you might be down a sled for the time needed to repair.

I am assuming myself I believe it wont be totaled, others have told me different due to the fact of the bulkhead damage and its cost of repair for labor time and parts.since accident I have not looked into the extent of any further damage other than what I seen exposed in front of me.I am impressed on how well built the sled was made as the hit was a solid hard impact which threw me a good distance away from the machine after impact.A friend of mine had a new Skidoo renegade a few years back hit a tree at at a slower rate of impact than mine and his had much more noticable damage than mine and the sled was considered totaled without a doubt as his bulkhead was totally destroyed as well as all the plastics. We all were amazed of how much was damaged on his sled to where the sled could not be driven back to trailer.Unfortunately for my incident I have a feeling its going to be a long slow road to recovery before my sled will be back out on the trails any time soon due to the time process for the claim to be process ,time to get all the parts I need and the labor to due the fix.Given the value of your sled, I doubt there is enough damage to total it. Just went through this last year. Both bulkheads, hood , bumper, belly pan ,nosepiece, etc. The longest lead time for parts was the EPS wiring harness. It had to come from Japan. A competent dealer should repair this with no loss of handling. My sled handles exactly as it did before being wrecked.

Port Yamaha did the repair. They quoted the entire repair at 5200. I know I got a deal on labor though. They said it would be a shame to total a low mile sled.

2 months to do a repair ?? That seems like a long time ,What was so time consuming and the final cost ? That sucks most of your prime riding is during those months. After March conditions start going downhill from there and start warming upPort Yamaha did mine also. Similar damage. Mid January to March 1st repair time. Sled is as good as new.

I couldn't use the sled before that time…5 busted ribs… so I let them know, no hurry. Very satisfied with their work. Insurance claim on 2012 Vector with about 2300 miles. $4700. Among busted parts were bulkhead, shock, arms, 2 plastics and some other smaller stuff. Got one week long trip in out of Ironwood MI. Got lucky with lots of good snow.

Very understandable,to hell with the sled at that point your health is more important.i would be surprised you still were able to ride beyond that point.
