So last year doing the RAP Tour I bent the crap out of my carbides. After considerable research (this forum) and lots of feedback from fellow owners (this forum) I went with a set of aggressive Snowtracker carbides on my 2009 RS Venture GT on the original skis.
My Yamaha guy was really against them, and I was doubtful after seeing them. Will these actually work?
But last weekend i finally got to try them. IT WAS FANTASTIC. I could have sworn power steering had been installed. It was effortless to steer, there was zero darting and even with a medium stud set up no problem. We did a couple of hundred ams and it was a pleasure.
To everyone who advised me, thanks.

I agree. They do make that big a difference. Plus, they make the Yamaha able to carry some speed through corners.

When I hear people buying ski's to eliminate darting/tracking and for better bite in corner's I just think of all the money wasted. As you said, what a pleasure to ride with them!
Yup. They are great. One thing to be aware of is ski lift. They bite so well that you can carry more speed into the corner. I found that I needed to relearn how to take the corners with Snowtrackers. The ski lift is alot faster with the trackers than regular carbides and caught me be surprise the first few times. Now that I'm used to them its no big deal.
Some people use the thicker 13mm sway bar to combat the ski lift. I just lean a little bit more.

Best return on your dollar that you can spend. Night and day improvement on tracking .

I've ran them for about 500kms on my Apex and I agree...they're da bomb!
Haven't noticed the reversing or trailer issue though.

Be careful with snow trackers crossing RR tracks...If you cross diagonal they can catch where the front of the tracker sticks past the keel of the ski. I was barely moving and it flipped me off the sled. I did love the handling with Snow Tracker but went to Kimpex Arrows and they work just as good.

It actually says in the "directions" not to cross tracks diagonally.
You'll only do it once though! Ha!

My problem was the road was snow covered and I couldn't see the rails, and the trail went from one side to the other across a road. You're right though...only once because I have Arrows now!!haha

Crossed RR with 12 vector , they connect with the tracks too..
RR tracks can be troublesome with most skis. Imho

RR crossing's have caused problems with probably every ski/wear bar combo ever built at some point in time. Had more people impressed with the Tracker's this weekend again and will be buying them for a Ski Dud (brand new 800 E-Tec).

I have had snow trackers for 2 years on my Vector and there wore out. So now im geting woody's doolys and see how they work. The snow trackers work but are not cheap. They did not wear very well.

I'd still take the snow trackers over Doolys or Slim Jims, I bet they out wear them 3-1 and track better.
