So, what do you not like on the apex..

Hey J, I wish I made 150,000 a year!

I don't even make a 3rd of that. I just know what I want, and I do it. Am glad I spend my money on sleds instead of other things. I just am carefull with my money, as anybody. But my racing, and steady job keep the bills paid.

I am not making this a bad thing, you have decided on school, and that is great! I am looking at other jobs, and most of them require a slip of paper to get hired.

I am a people person, and love the outdoors. When Indy and I stopped the last time to take pictures of a bald eagle flying right above our heads, the thought of money, hard times, job problems, drive up to our cabin, idiots on the road, the end of winter coming, the carbide runner I damaged on the trail, the low snow conditions on the trail, and the deer I almost clipped off in front of PimpedRSrage, disappeared completely from our minds, and put a huge warmth in my heart. I could be gone tomorrow, or the next day, but will still remember that specific moment. Indy almost had a very serious heart attack, and if he would have passed.....the moment with the eagle flying, would have been the greatest time we had together. I am glad he is still here, and hope to have more great encounters with Indy, and with good friends I have met here in this forum. For that, I consider these moments "Priceless". I hate to say it, but if I had to flip burgers to afford 100 miles of diesel, and 200 miles of unleaded for the sled just to ride, I would flip burgers till my legs gave out.

The performance is second to none, and the quality, and reliability is bar none. I would never buy a 2 stroke for that much money.

I think some are missing the point as terry said I would spend the money too to do something I love jason just saying the prices are getting out of hand not that we won't spend it on them.Yes all the brands are getting out of hand bur yamaha your getting your best bang for your buck.Right Jason

the price is not really that high at all.
You can buy a new sled every year for around 2 grand and your trade in.
If you ride 20 days in a season, that is cheaper than renting one!!
Plus an apex/Attak is not just some rental, it is the best of all worlds :ORC

Tork, You hit that nail right on the head.

Ryan, exactly my thoughts.

If I had gotten 20 days of riding I wouldn't be whining right now. 1,040 miles on the clock, 530 of those done in a bit over 18 hours.

Yeah, last season was a bust for me but the one coming up doesn't have to be if I plan right.

Hmm, I think Custer said something similar as he rode off into the badlands....

The Canadian prices bother me. I was set to buy a GT but knowing how much more it was going to cost over the US prices I will just continue to ride my RX-1 for another season. Hopefully Yam Can will adjust the prices for next season and I can get an 07. The Canadian ride was very sweet and knowing how nice the new sled ride is very hard to wait but the price :o| :o| !!!!!

Come on guys, Heres 3 things you need to think about

Inflation
Higher steel prices
Much higher fuel prices

Is Yamaha supposed to absorb these costs? There isnt a business in the world that hasnt had increased production costs. If you want to talk about overpriced, go take a look at what you get for $9000 from Cat, Doo and Polaris...BBY

I'll agree with you Matt. However, with inflation at a constant, vehicle prices are bottoming out. But the market is flooded and the economy is in a slump, thats probably why. I paid the price to have a sled, I really enjoy the times it has given me.

I have to drive 10 to 12 hours to ride every other weekend during the winter months, the driving gets old but the riding is well worth the time and money spent.

You need a plane to get up north faster.

Plus you can't really get a good rental sled anyway.

What i dont like!!

1# short windshield is useless and tall one is ugly!
2# Colors of new sleds pretty much suck, what happened to the ones in the yamaha poll?
3# Black tunnel
4# lack of options (suspension, shocks, paint etc)
5# handle bars are not adjustable
6# hood pins
7# factory 3 inch carbides
8# SEAT and seat color

Really the only things i doo like is the rear suspension and taillight engine, and handlebars..LOL

Small planes

Kevin, that is a long drive but once I'm there it is all worth while! I'm sure I could get the business to buy a small plane but I don't care for them... they make me nervous! I'll just have to keep on driving to and fro! Hope all is well, we're having a great summer around here waiting for the new sleds, looking forward to another group ride!

Waterdog (till the snow flies)

Spending 10 grand total to make my winters great for the next 5 or six years is worth it to me. It's either that or I go back on my depression medication.

This is a very valid point. I used to be very depressed at the prospect of a long hard winter. Plus with something like sledding that I love, I am a better father, a better husband, and I'm am more productive with my business :D
