After trying a few after market skis on my 2013 nytro with the star relocate I wasn't totally satisfied and wanted more, I had way to much ski lift on groomed trails with other skis so I took the plunge with split rail skis and wow what a difference they have made...
I only have 300 miles or so on them and noticed a totally new machine on the trails, yesterday conditions had about 6 inches of fresh snow on top of the groomed trails and this morning trails were groomed to perfection... I've setup the sled with minimal ski pressure as recommended, both rear straps are at their fullest length and the rear front spring is set to Robert from "star" specs, front shock springs are full loose than I tightened them one turn... I can't believe how crisp the sled handles with these split rail skis, steering is very light almost to light, had no ski lift in the corners, no push just goes where you want it to go...

I'm running a 129" 1.5" ripsaw 2 track, I'm not 100% sure if I'll keep this track for next year, I think the original ripsaw 1.25 would of been better for the type of riding I do...

Last week I came back from a 2000km trip in northern Ontario and I wish I would of gotten these skis before I left, I had a heck of a time controlling the nytro with push and ski lift in the corners...

Everything that has been said about these skis is absolutely true, they work and they work great, the designer of these skis got the idea from a boat hull and his theory about why a normal ski pushes and causes ski lift is so true...

I'll be riding all day tomorrow and continuing the verdict on how these skis perform so far I'm very pleased...

About your comment on the Ripsaw 2 1.5, what don't you like about it? I am considering this track for trail riding.

What is the the star spec from Robert for the center spring?

Stain I'm not sure yet, I've done a tremendous amount of km's on the rip saw 1 1.25 track and like that track a lot, I only ride in central and northern Ontario so I'm not studded, never been studded since I have been riding, the rip 1 gives a very small amount of slide in the corners and hooks up great on the throttle, the rip 2 doesn't give at all in the corners but sometimes seems to spin when on the throttle, especially if there's a little fresh snow, this is just my opinion... Also the rip 2 seems to make more noise than the rip 1 but it is a beeper lug track so can't compare the two in that way...

I only have 3000k on the rip 2 compared to years on the rip 1 but so far for trail riding I prefer the rip 1, rip 1 is more like a nobby track compared to almost like a paddle track like the rip 2, With 3k on the rip 2 i have no slider wear so far which is good being a deeper lug track...

i have another big trip coming up plus local riding so I'll ride the rest of the year and see how it make out in different conditions...

What is the the star spec from Robert for the center spring?
Dremmick I had Robert revalve my shocks and he added a different spring on the rear front shock, I can check but I think there's an inch of threads showing on the spring nut, he told me to set it that way so the suspension won't give that kick back affect at the rear, and it hasn't so far, his relocate kit and shock work has made the nytro so much better to ride...

I'm not a Yamaha guy but some of my friends are. My one friend has a Yamaha Nitro long track and like me, he tells me that he could not live without his Split Rails.

I've been using Split Rail Skies since the first year that they were released. I wear out sleds before I wear out the skis and I transfer them to new sleds whenever possible. I now have two XRS Renegades and the Split Rails work fantastic on them (Split Rails help long tracks).

I heard this week that Split Rail is selling a bunch of skis for non-current sleds at a 50% discount?

I have a good used set with blue loops for sale if anyone is looking for a set.

hibshman25, I might be interested in the ski's for my 08 Nytro. Get with me when you get a chance and we'll work it out.
