Hey Guys and Gals, I have a pair of 14' LTX LE's I'm looking to get the rear shocks revalved and the front Floats refreshed or possibly revalved as well. With my go to shock guy out of the game (Bruce @ Pioneer Performance), who do you guys recommend sending shocks to? I'm looking to get the rear shocks more of a progressive feel so they are nice and plush on the stutters but stiffen up on the big stuff so it doesn't bottom out and buck. Who have you guys been using and what has your experience been with them. I want to hear the pros and cons. I understand nothing is perfect so don't be shy to tell me what you liked and didn't like about the ride after the revalve and also the good and bad with customer service before, during and after the work was done. Thanks for any and all input.
Carver or Me. Can't find anything to complain about. I haven't revalved the floats but recommend refresh and Hygear evol addon. The rear shocks only difference between Carver and me is I do a upgraded scraper and will not change the piston in the center shock. When I tried the piston and valving in the center I bottomed it often. So I use the older Carver specs in center shock and rear. Is a video I made of difference. It's dramatic! Not only plush,no bottoming but handling and transfer are hugely improved. If your sled pushes in the corners this should be first fix. $80 a shock and shipping. I use Amsoil and Ohlins grease for seal lube. These shocks especially the center seem to suck water into them. They all will need refresh every season. Just pm me if you want them done. Thanks Steve

Thanks for your response Cannondale27. Not to sound ignorant or to insult you but I don't really know who you are? I see you are a vendor but what company do you work for or own? I'm not one to send my stuff out to just anyone to mess with. I liked Bruce @ Pioneer as not only did he know his stuff and knew it well but he was also local to me and if I needed anything changed, it was a quick drive down the road and in a day or two I was back on the trail. Now that he is out of the game, I have to start from scratch and find a shock guy I like and trust. I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from.
I have glanced at the hygear evol chambers but haven't really researched it much. I was also maybe looking into getting a pair of the RC2 Evol shocks like they have on the LE's but I'm not sure how well they actually work or if they are so complicated, most people end up screwing with them too much and never arrive at a nice setup. The concept sounds cool but I also don't want to be f'ing with them every ride and never arriving at a happy medium. What do you know about those shocks and what are the pros and cons?
I didn't see a video so if you could put a link in here somewhere, that would be great. Thanks brother!!

Jet pilot785, Bruce is back doing shocks again. The following from a post a couple of days ago in the general forum.
Hey guys....I tracked down Bruce Schrader of Pioneer Performance though eBay and asked him if he is still doing shock work. He told me he is still doing the shock stuff. He gave me his info and said I could let you guys know. So here is his ship to address and phone number! Bruce Schrader 716-560-8523

That's good news!! I will have to get in contact with him. I am still interested in hearing others opinions on shock stuff for these vipers. Bruce did great work with the Apex shocks but I'm not sure how he is with the viper shocks yet. Keep the recommendations coming. Especially if you have videos showing how they perform after the work.

I don't blame you. I just do shock work at home. But I am riding these sleds so...
As for the Rc2 Evols yes they do take a lot of adjusting to get perfect but once you do. Wow! I love mine but do admit I had a lot of adjusting to get perfect. But mine have Hi/Low also. The Hygear setup is much simpler. Just allows you to run lower pressure in main to get a nicer ride. No clicker.

I've heard nothing but great reviews from cannondales setups, he's a straight shooter and won't beat around the bush, he'll tell you exactly what's wrong and because he does it on his own time to help people out and doesn't own a business doing it he isn't going to try and sell you parts you don't need. Dealing with actual suspension companies, you could buy upgrade parts for your stock suspension until you're blue in the face, that's their business, they want to sell as much as possible. I wouldn't be nervous at all on sending shocks to cannondales, I've emailed back and forth with him for 2 seasons now and spoken with him some on the phone, he's a great guy to deal with.

Good to hear he's a great guy to deal with. I know you had your shocks revalved. Who did them and what were your impressions overall? I remember seeing a video you posted about after they came back from the service. I know you are more of a straight liner as opposed to a hardcore trail rider so your setup may be different from what I'm looking for but I would assume whoever did them knows enough about it to be able to set mine up to my liking. Any info would be great. Thanks Barry!!

Ian from monster performance did mine, $160 if I remember right and I paid shipping. I basically specified that I wanted as plush as possible. The difference was unbelievable! The small little 6" choppys don't even exist now and to be 100% honest it rides much better now even on big hard hits vs the stuff stock valving. Handling of the sled in general is better, truthfully there is no negative things at all from getting shocks revalved, just make sure you do it ASAP so you can enjoy the sled even more.
