Transfer on My XTX is awesome stock. Only complaint I have I guess is a low sit in height. The star kit intrests me but I am looking at a heavier rear spring not anything softer and the Star Kit softens the suspension.
I run 350 or so suited up and other then the low ride height the suspension works well with the rear clicker on two clicks from full soft. Add a bag full of cloths and stuff and go to three or four clicks from full soft. It does not handle the stutter bumps perfectly but does not really beat me up either.
Biggest fear I have with the Star kit is not handling 400pds on a bagger trip. The XTX is a stiff suspension and its handles my bulk with ease!

What I did on the star is move the bottom hole back a little on the lower pivot arm yhat makes it stiffer for more weight. Works great for me!!!!!!Sasquatch said:Transfer on My XTX is awesome stock. Sasquatch, I'm 300 dressed and I run my star kit with the stock springs. The front is tightened all the way and the rear is full soft. It sits high and it transfers great and just to say bottoms on a big hole. It also rides much better in the studders and you can ride much faster on a rough trails. If I go for a big trip with the saddlebags I will set the rears to medium. I also set the front suspension to what star recommends and it handles really flat in corners. I am going to re-valve and put the stiffer center spring in for next season. Its definitely not softer than stock it just works better.

I thought about only buying the kit and waiting to have them do the shocks but i didn't want to have part of the upgrade for the rest of the year vs waiting two weeks where i don't have a trip planned. Besides i haven't ridden the wives vector yet so I won't be sled less. Hope this is as good as advertised I can't wait to try it out!!!
Did he mention the stiffer center shock spring?? It makes a big difference. The kit also moves the small read wheels back just over 1 inch to help with slide wear at the tip up point. 700kms on my stock slides now and they still look perfect LOL.........
Yes he did and after checking with my dealer they said that spring is discontinued so i paid the extra money to buy one from him, I didn't want to do just part of it and wonder what i was missing. Sent my shocks to him today so hopefully will have all my parts back by next friday to install on saturday and take it for a rip. I bought his pull rods also after i broke mine this weekend double riding a 200 + lb buddy after his 800r grenaded all over the trail, so hopefully the new ones are much stronger, we got some steel from the hardware store and fabbed up a fix trail side and rode the rest of the weekend. I have dupont slides and the excel x wheel kit so i haven't had any trouble with slide wear yet!

Do you guy's have the limiters pulled up all the way with the Star kit? I have my limiters set on the middle hole and the front end is floating under acceleration. It's hairy in the twisties just touching the gas. Is the fix for this pulling the limiters up to to the top hole or increasing the center shock preload? I am at 28mm thread left on the center shock.

So I installed kit and cranked up my stock front skid shock, yes I no longer get the harsh hits in the rear and transfer is awesome but I get too much inside ski lift in the twisties. Front fox floats at 70 psi, any sugestions would be helpful thanks.

Stock your limiter straps are set for max transfer. Did you pull them in one hole? Drop the floats down to 50 and try that also. The star kit takes some weight off the skis just sitting still. I have my front shock springs backed off to the point I have a little slop in the retainers, it handles awesome for a 144.......

I love the wheelies, always did but I know that isnt good handling lol.I actually put more air in when playing around probably went backwards at that point, Ill try dropping pressures and pulling limiter thanks. It is way better in the stutter bumps for sure, Iam used to a turbo nytro and it was always skis in the air anyways

Just back from a 1700 mile loop in QC here. New sled is sweet but the rear suspension needs help. So.....
I am heading to see Robert at Star tomorrow. Getting my rear shocks re-valved and picking up his Kit for the XTX Skid.
Got 4000 miles on the sled so far and looking forward to having something that will work better.
Will let you know.
Also installing the 13mm sway bar from Pioneer.
Looking forward to my next ride.

Shocks done while I waited and should be trying the setup out by this time tomorrow. Can not wait.
Excellent service from great people.

Just got back from my first ride with the Star Kit on the XTX and the re-valved shocks.
Night and Day.
Best investment ever, besides the sled of course.
Just do it.
