Star Suspension kit for XTX skid

Thanks, Im not really ready to jump on this yet, but deffinitly interested in how well it works.

As far as the front shock mount, doesnt the stock setup move the lower mount towards the shock as the swing arm is compressed. Havent had mine in the shop yet this year, but it seems like the linkage rotates up as the front arm compresses, shortening the shock at a faster rate then the Star set up?!?!

Time the get the sled in the garage to check it out
The front shock bottoms out as it compresses from top and bottom from the links giving only 2/3 of swing arm motion. In other words, when shock is fully compressed, swing arm is hanging 3 to 4 inches from the bump stops on rails. Will give feedback soon....

I just checked the OEM lower shock mount link movement.
I took the spring off and watched as I pushed down on the front arm until it fully bottomed out on the rubber dampers. Yes the lower shock link dose move forward or up into the stroke just a little bit right near the end of the stroke as it nears bottoming out.
Cheers

Just thought it was worth saying...

Please let me know how the ride/handling is after you install it. I am on the fence on ordering this kit too!

Little update on the XTX kit,
I've put around 100 miles on it and it's all worth it.
Transfert is awesome,
Feels plush in the studders,
It rides higher in the travel,
Eats up the big bumps,
Better overall ride quality.
This is how the xtx suspension supposed to feel.
Well worth the 299.00$
Love it

I installed the 128 kit w/ Cobra track in my 08 RTX, will be testing it out in Michigan next weekend as there is no snow in MN.

ttt

kinda interested to know if others have used their services and products. I see they sell an adjusting cam for the rear springs. Wondering if they take the sag out of the skid

Nope! About half even with the Hygear spacers.

Going to the UP, staying in Rockland. I would have ya ride along but the truck is full- 5 guys, 4place trailer with 5 sleds.

For those with it in an XTX, does your rear skid come back to "sitting" height (no weight on seat) once you get up? I just installed mine and when I compress the rear, it stay REALLY LOW (3-4 inches lower than stock). I assume my rear shock needs a charge...but I have heard that the rear shock is only compression and no rebound.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Your adjusters have nothing to do with ride hieght. The springs hold the sled up. The stock springs are too soft and don't have enough preload to return the sled to proper ride height. Also, the rate is too soft, and causes the rear to bottom on G outs. I have been setting up the xtx's with one apex moutain spring (1500#),and one stock(11oo#) with hygear spacers, and having excellent results.
