so this kit deals with the front shock mount? looking at the pic of your's, looks stock. it also looks like there is no poupling in the back. are you not finding it possible to bottom out when landing on tail? or maybe a wicked mogul etc?Yamatario said:This kit also raises the shock bottom mount up so it no longer rubs the track.

It actually bottoms less with the Star. The coupling takes place with a leverage action in the back.

Yamatario, I am interested in doing this kit over the summer. How does the transfer adjusted since you have to install those PVC spacer? Also, how is the sag?

There is also another post about being black and Blue regarding suspension. I have several posts in there about my setup specs. (sorry with my playbook I can't. Copy and paste the link)
You have to run a tight track to help with transfer. The center arm pivots for transfer. There is no adjustment like before. For my weight I had to set the limiter strap to the2nd hole, and tighten down the center shock preload. You have to balance the center preload with skis pressure and transfer. If you check the settings on the other thread, I have excellent transfer at excel, decel, or neutral throttle through corners.
With the split rail skis and the starsuspension, this Nytro is now awesome. It is like posted before, it is scary because your confidence in the sled handling goes through the roof, and now you can just rail it though the trails.
The sag will still show at the end of the day with ice and slush build up, but not like the stock setup.

I looked at all the pics and install instructions. I see no coupling at all

You can see where it is coupled in this pic...I saw this kit in action this week end...IMHO it works.

According to this website I am using the wrong term...it turns it into more of an independent suspension.

Thats what I was saying, its hard to believe the stock springs would keep it from bottoming. appears uncoupled

If I had to guess, I would say that the xtx with stock suspension. the torsion springs work against the coupling and slide arm both, causing so much friction, it becomes less responsive. I'm all for an uncoupled suspension, but dont want to point at the sky with the lightest touch of the throttle either. had a long cat I was playing with here, had no coupling. made me almost sea sick. added polaris blocks and viola, way better.

I had a ZR that I tried without the blocks so I know what you mean about ski's to the sky but this was not the case with twiz28's XTX...it reminded me of my ZR9 with the pins and no blocks left in...just enough transfer so it can't be bottoming out.

Thanks for that link. I was thinking with the leverage action it was called coupling, but according to that link it is an independent suspension.
Sorry if I mislead anybody.
What I do go on is its ride and handling, and that is a great improvement over stock.
When I first installed the Star kit and went with the first hole in the limiter strap it saw the sky. Then I changed to the second hole and played with center shock preload and that stop the skyward scenery.
The bottoming resistance improved but don't know if that was just Star kit and/or 2 stage revalved shocks.

Looks like I will have to order the kit. After reading all the posts on it im willing to drop the cash to try it out. I was going to order a clutch kit anyway but will divert the funds to the suspension instead. What is the sence of having more power if you cant ride through the big bumps. I read about Split Rail Skis on here and now have a set on each of my Nytros. Im not scared to try new things. Shane
