Oredered my 2015 ltx right off the showroom floor back in mid September, dealer keeps calling me to tell me it's going to be longer and longer before the updates are done. Any one else order theirs and not get it yet? I know there's a lot of sleds to fix up and get ready for the season but it seems to be taking them quite a while! Guess I can't complain too much, just getting that itch to ride really bad and want a nice piece of garage art! My latest date of being able to pick it up is mid November, hoping time flies!

What updates are you referring to ? It was my understanding that all sleds built from April'ish 2014 to current should not need any updates, correct me if i am wrong?.. Is the sled you ordered pre april build date? Our 2015 Blue/White XTX has a April build date and my dealer said there is no updates for it.

Not sure exactly when the build date on mine is, I was told it was a spring order sled that someone backed out on, they are telling me it needs almost all of the updates, master cylinder, ecu flash, coolant and fuel lines need to be checked, along with some other things. When I go pick it up I will ask then exactly what all the updates were. If I am correct this was a pre April sled that was sent to dealers as a display

I was also wondering how long it takes to do the updates if the dealer has all the equipment to do so. Is this a day job? A couple days? Or a couple hours?

weird...why did you have to "order" if it was on the showroom floor?

Seems odd, if you paid...they shouldn't take more than a week for prep.

Well I guess I didn't "order" it I bought it right off the floor, it was the ltx model I as looking for and it was the only blue and orange color combo they had left, and that's what I thought it should only take them a few weeks to get it ready. After a while they told me they were waiting on the dealer meeting to get the ecu fix and even that was over a week ago... I did pay for the sled all the paper work has gone through and I'm making payments on it as we speak. Seems to be taking a while, but what do I know I just ride the thing.

I would have taken it home that day and told them to call me when the parts arrive. Better safe in my garage than at the dealer where an "accident" could happen

The reverse update is a 5 minute job at most. There is a little bit more involved in measuring the fuel line thing, ecu update, when it's available, I'm sure will be a quick turn around. Should be no more than a few hours for a dealer to do it all

My guess is that sled is a display model given to dealers to display this spring. I believe it cant be actually given to a customer till Nov 1st.

Why is that? I could have taken it home the day I got it but they led me to believe that it was only going to be a Few weeks before they had it ready, so I opted to wait.

Because you said so and if it is a display model those are the terms. Everyone is waiting on ECU flash. If they are in fact replacing the master cylinder and doing all those checks they are a great dealer and doing more than most. Should be worth waiting.

Yea I realize I said it was a display model, I was curious as to why the display models cannot be given to the customer before November first, sorry for the confusion... But they do seem like a good dealer and I have had good luck with them in the past, guess I'll just have to be more patient. I want to get a sheet of exactly all the recalls and updates that were done so I can get a better idea of what some future issues might be. It will also help when I am able to see when the sled was made to better understand the recalls it had.

There is only two recalls. Fuel line and reverse actuator. As we have seen many other things have changed for the 2015.5 models. ECU reflash may or may not be a recall for the 14and15 early sleds. If he gets you all that the 15.5's have you scored very well.

Reverse update should have been done at the time of build, the up date was out by then. The fuel line may have been after that, reflash is coming (to my dealer any way) by the end of November.
The brake issue I/we have not heard of, and that includes Cat/Yamaha dealers.

I just picked up my 15 LTX LE yesterday .. prior to pick up the dealer already told me about the 2 updates. 1 being the new exhaust that was put on due to a weld issue, and 2 being the master cylinder/lever replacement.

I asked about a reflash, and said he hadnt heard anything yet for it.
