Very informative information guys, thanks. Once I get more information on my sled I will let you all know. I am coming off a srx last season and can't wait to long some miles on this beautiful sled. If you guys had any complaints about the viper what would they be? Just looking for some opinions to know what to expect when I get out and ride. Also this may be a silly question, but what mods, if any, can I do with out voiding the warrenty from yamaha?
There is nothing other than adjusting for your taste that needs to be done. Last year I purposly left it stock for close to 1000mi and enjoyed every mile then the mods start. Just enjoy it stock for awhile.

Yea I agree as to keeping it stock for a while and getting all the suspension set up right for my style of riding, what was the first mods you wanted to do to your viper cannon? There is nothing other than adjusting for your taste that needs to be done. Suspension was first for me. Came very close to buying a 13rr 800 since they were about giving them away but just could not justify it vs the Yamaha 4st. Left me feeling jealous and started on my way to making my own Viper RR by purchasing some Evols for front. Now we have the RTX LE. Guarantee if I kept track of $ spent now and in future trying to make mine into that sled I would cry but that's why we immediately tear up receipts so we don't know right?

Bought a Rtx for the wife last season and has around 500 miles on it now...had a few hard starts when it was warm, waiting til we head north to get reflash. Ran into another viper owner on trail and he had mentioned to check all the bolts and nuts on machine after a few miles as he had found a bunch loose. Shocks came with a lot of air, so we let out quite a bit for my wife and rides like your in a cloud. I added a OSP muffler at end of season and it sounds crazy...just don't tell wife she has no idea

I wanted to add one thing you might want to look into...my daughter was riding wife's sled and went over a drift and tipped the machine in its side...could not get to start after that. Looked on forums, here and had to take engine cover off and remove a hose and plug with my thumb...to get to start...you might wanna look into that before you hit the trail, rather then trying to figure out later. Just FYI...

When we did that I just started it and shut it off 4 or 5 times in a row and it reprimed on its own. There is a guy here that sells rollover kits that do that for you, somebody post his info please.

I bought a 2014 Viper last June and knew it would have been cheaper to wait and buy an MTX. BUT, this way I built my own and also knew I would have to alter the MTX to my liking. So now I have an MTX that has ice age rails and 3 inch lug Camoplast X3 with Camoplast All Terrain Skis. Yes, I would do it again..............

How's the install? Pretty easy? This would prolly explain why my dads vector never wants to start back up after I tip that on it's side haha

I roll my sled all the time and the FSS system works fine for repriming. Just pull tether and crank over for a few seconds and then start it up with tether in place.

Yes the FSS does stop oil from leaking out. That is its main purpose. If yours is leaking then you need to service the Jacobson valve or talk to FSS as they have great service.
