I have one on my sled :)

Jason claims that Yamaha race team managed 10hp gains on the dyno... at least that's what Yamaha told him ;).

I haven't ridden with it yet though...

There's no reason to believe that this header/can/dyno tune won't produce 10 hp somewhere in the rpm range.

Right... I am sure it will make 10 hp in the midrange ... Give us a report back on how you like it.

Excell had a header. Don't hear much about it any more. From what I gather, the header does not do much and being the most expensive and labor intensive bolt on, I think it sounds impractical. Excell is getting decent gains from intake and silencer only and much easier install.

Bang for the buck on their dyno plot the silencer is the hands down winner.

The stock pipe on the Viper is actually a pretty good design, that being said don't look for huge gains in the pipe itself. You can gain noticeably with a muffler change though. In my testing the big gain was clutch first, then air box then can. Now, that doesn't mean you can't gain some from a pipe but not a huge gain in my opinion. Also watch for dyno claims on any products and look at the chart and see if it is huge gains in an odd place like midrange where you really don't get much use.

No knocking SLP pipe as I have not seen it just pointing out that the can may give you big gains but I am doubtful on big gains on a pipe alone.

Did you have to modify the heat shield for install?

I have the SPI can on my sled at the moment. Nice piece. Ceramic coated. I like how it sits tight in bottom of the belly pan with the flange around it. Performance wise, RPM's are about the same as the MBRP I ran prior but the mounts and brackets seem to be better quality on the SPI. I'm going to be trying another muffler soon so it might be up for grabs if I prefer that one.
