I am tossing around the idea of stretching out my 15 rtx le 1.7 out to a 153" and adding a 38" front end. I have a guy that wants to swap for my rr skid and 42" front end. What are you guys thoughts on this? he has a 2.5 challenger track to go with it too, I believe the 15 153 mtx has 7 tooth drivers and my rtx has 9's right? what would be a good size drivers to go with 8 tooth maybe? what gear ratio should i use with the longer track and turbo? currently i have 24/49 gears and a 21 top as well. I realize that i have to add a longer tunnel and the pro climb mounting brackets, is there anything else I am missing? By the way the 153 skid has ice age rails, stiffer front spring, Hygear dual chamber on the rear fox, extra wheels and "x" brace too.

Thanks
Jeff

Yes RTX 9 tooth 2.86 pitch and the gears are going to depend on what drivers you go with and the driver is going to be dependent on the track you are putting in it the challenger has to use the 7 tooth stock driver

He said he is running xtx gearing now up from the mtx

How is the longer skid for weight transfer I like doing a lot of wheelies and my local area is mostly rougher terrain but sometimes we get some fluff to play in and when we go on sled trips it's all backcountry riding never any groomed trails. The BTX was market for the areas I drive in low elevation but deep powder

The weight transfer is awesome on the uncoupled skids, wether it be xtx, btx or mtx, the skid arms on uncoupled sleds are all interchangeable with the different rail length, there were some minimal geometry changes for 16.

Jeff, I converted my xtx 141 to a mtx 153. I love it. I assume you like to playing in the powder and the 153 is the sled to enjoy it with. I'm currently running a 40inch front but after driving a few 38's I will be switching before next season. If you can swap your drivers and gears with the mtx's thats the way to go.
:sled2:

He has the mtx gears too his sled is also turboed and found the xtx gears good, I like how the rtx handles and takes the big bumps but it's not so good for what I really like playing around in the powder and sidehilling. What kind of speed would see with xtx gears vs mtx?

Mtx 24-50 with 7 tooth drivers = 95.5. Xtx 21-41 with 7 tooth drivers = 101.9

The stock RTX should be a 9 tooth 2.86
