i bought this nytro and the guy changed the track to a 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 how long of a stud can be put on this machine without hitting the heat exchanger

1.450 is about as long as you want to go safely. 1.5" long stud will work, but its getting a little close.

If you want to stud a 1.5" lug track, you'll have to switch to 8 tooth drivers. Cost you about 265 bucks for good Avid extrovert drivers.

I'm running 1.5 inch fast trac top gun stainless steel studs this winter. I added a 1/4 inch shim under each of the brackets that hold the tunnel protectors in just to be safe.

How much work was it. Can it be down without removing the track?
I want to 1.450 Gold Diggers.

Yes it can be done with out removing the track. You Need to at least pull the Skid so you can get at everything. You also have to remove the seat which is 4 bolts. It will take you about an hour or two. I drilled out the Rivets from the top. they are steel so you need a good drill bit. A carbide bit it the best bet. I used steel so it took longer. You need to get some 1/4 inch aluminum flat stock and cut four shims to go under the brackets that hold the protectors in the tunnel.
