Just picked up this sled an 08 RS Vector GT. I ride northern Michigan on groomed trails under varying trail conditions. I am thinking of starting the season stock but am planning ahead. Love to run the twisties fast so what do you think?
If I stud what and how? And do you then change carbides to take out understeer? Dualies or what ?
Thanks.

Definitely stud it. It has more than enough power to justify the effort. You won't get maximum performance out of the machine without studs. 120 down the middle. Check with the local dealer for stud length. I put Extreme Max's on my '09, with the tall nuts and I didn't break or bend one of em, and the sled performed great. I wish it would snow tomorrow.

My dad did his 05 vector with 96 studs and it was perfect for him, kept up with all of us young guys!

144 down the middle on my nytro worked out very well. I just used the woody's stainless.

I'm looking for the same sled in 08 or 09. Just sold a Phazer that I wasn't happy with. I ride in the same area. I rode my Phazer once and went and had it studded. I wouldn't even wait. If you have the stock scags then I would also replace right away. The 2 or 3 inch stock scags don't grab and you usually push through the turns after your studded.
