Wavemaster I was wondering if you have had a chance to try out those cold cutters yet? I'm still waiting on my sled and snow. But I picked up some and was wondering if it's worth it to install them.

Only loading and unloading in the trailer to get the flash update done at the dealers.
Our season/trails open Dec. 15th (as soon as hunting season ends) hopefully we will have enough snow to let it rip.

The viper in my picture above is no longer with us (RIP Viper 1.0) a pinned throttle and a 200 yard sprint that involved 3 outstanding crashes did her in.
However, to the point above. The screws worked great however unless you put them in perfectly, repeated bending of the paddle will cause the screws that went in slightly off to cut through the side.
Viper 1.0 had 402mi. on the odometer when it decided on early retirement and after careful inspection we found 6 that had cut through. (had 225 screws in the track).
On Viper 2.0 (2015 XTX SE) I studded the middle (2 per lug, geese pattern) and screwed the outsides with 3/4" kold kutters. 2000 miles later no screws coming out (one broken head out of 125) and no damage to the track.

I ran the stud version of the cold cutters with carbide tips. I did lose a few. I had 150 of them in the paddles then I added 244 1.875" woody's and they helped but I am a single ply 1.6" track and they barely make contact I doubt that a 1.7" 2 ply they will do much of anything. The cold cutters are so light that if you do throw them they will not hurt the exchangers. I did have 3 come out when it was on the track dyno and they barely stuck in the mud flap.
