Those DX shocks work pretty well now and always have even in Vipers in 14,15 and 16. Many SE Viper(float) guys switched to those fronts and love them. They are not big bump,G-out valved shocks in rear but they are very plush everywhere else. Off trail the shocks dont matter much as long as you are jumping in deep snow. Revalve or different rear shock is all you will ever need to change. You get all the bags vs fancy shock. If you are 2-300+mi day rider it is a perfect match till coming home on used up big bump trails. Black and red looks like a million bucks.

If cannondale27 saids those shocks are good shocks, take his word for them,he rebuilds shocks on the side,so he would have a very good idea of there internals, and how they go togeather, and like I already mentioned while we were talking, you can always have them revalved to your riding style, and in fact I bet cannondale could even help you out with that task, and I think the DX will also be a very nice fit for you brother. Thanks for all the input guys, I'm going with the LTX-DX! Snowbeast,
Thanks for your advice! I was hoping to get some pics of your stud pattern. We spoke about that briefly as well. The dealer was able to get me a tunnel protector. Now it's time to choose studs...
