I have the STX 137 that came with a tunnel bag and two small saddlebags. I am missing something in removing the tunnel bag? It seems it could be riveted to the tunnel. I got it all wet (certainly it is not water 'proof') and want to take it off to make sure it totally dries out. Sorry if this has been asked before, it's been a long week.

Sorry, I should have mentioned it was a 17. I checked tonight and there are no latches inside the bag. There are two clips that hold the bag forward on the outside and what looks like two big rivets inside. I am not sure what is underneath as I can't pull the bag up enough to see (not sure if there are riveted clips on the bottom of the bag that I need to pull in a certain direction or something). Seems to me to be a less than ideal design that I would have to drill out rivets to remove a bag from the tunnel but I am not sure. Again, thanks for the help.

I am not sure but if you have straps that hold bag forward on those mushrooms just remove the straps from them and once removed pull the bag backwards. There is two mushrooms just like on the side where the straps clip to underneath the bag that fit into slots in the plastic bottom of the bag itself. Cat has a different bag with latches in the inside. Thought Yamaha got that too.

If these are the bags your talking about there pop rivet from under neat.

That's the one Allan. I was afraid they would be riveted. Thanks to you and Cannondale for the help. I love this site.

Take a look at the Cat bags. Exactly same latching system at front but they use a latch inside the bag. Buddy has one. That's stupid that they riveted it to tunnel but must have been issues.

Thanks I may check that out but don't want to lose the ability to use those smaller side bags when on a longer trip. I dried it out with a hair dryer so my original problem is solved. I may look at drilling the rivets out this spring and fabbing some other way to secure it so I can remove it if or when I need to. If I come up with anything innovative, I will post the results.

He has the sidebags also.
