Summer mods - whats your plans?

How did you like the 240hp for trail riding? Do you think a 1.3 ice ripper track would be enough trail traction?
I loved the 240 kit. I had 192 studs and still spun easily.

If the ice ripper I put on -1.25 Inch -128 inch (2nd USA extension track) - my 06 Apex is any indication not near enough traction for a turbo to hook and go.

gonna install a set of skinz airframe running boards, relocate the battery to the front of the sled under the K&N intake pods via http://www.waterdawgkustomz.com/proddetail.php?prod=ENVYTRAY with a GT16 battery 240 cca and 11 lbs. Still have a stash or Ti bolts I would like to find places for and if money permits maybe a carbon fuel tank.

I always use hygear for all shock work and have been very very happy with them.
But they are expensive.
Im on a budget this year. So i looked around and heard great things about ian at monster performance.
I contacted Ian via email at like 9pm on a tuesday night and recieved a quote within an hour. Pretty good response time in my opinion.
He quoted 100 bucks to revalve the 2 rear shocks and seemed confident he could get my viper riding great,so i sent my shocks to him.

Not sure what your plan is for a skidplate but i installed an RPM composites, carbon fiber skid plate last year and while its expensive, it is incredibly strong and light. If you have the cash it is a way way better skid plate than the plastic yammy skid plate and it wraps the side panels providing protection for the chaincase and brake.
It has already saved me once and payed for itself, lol

Ian is awesome! I've been dealing with him for many years with my ski doo shocks. He has done the service and revalves on every sled that I ride with. Good prices, great service and he can make your sled wicked.

In the middle of Phazer stretch and mod at the moment so Viper mods will be a fall project.

7" Slydog powder hounds, blue with orange loops.
New bumper, Racewerx or Yamaha, undecided.
Heavy Hitter clutch weights.
Teather.
Maybe replace tri hub. Only 800 miles on it so might wait a bit longer.
Wash and polish and wait for snow!

So far i would completely agree. Service has been absolutely incredible. He called today to say everything is done. He gave me a detailed explanation of what was done and why. It all ships out today.
If these shocks are half as good as his customer service and prices, i will be a custom for life.

Head shim. More boost. Revalve shocks. Stud track. 4 wheel kit. There's more. Can't think of it right now

This Summer:
HID kit
PowderKeg or Skidoo Linq luggage. Leaning toward PowerKeg. Advice welcomed!
Fully clip track
Ulmar Clutch Kit (No machining though. Want to be able to go back to stock.)
Mirrors (Can't decide which way to go. I don't wan't them on the handle bars. I like using muffs when it gets F______ Cold. Advice welcomed!)
New seat (First one had a puncture in it from the factory. Hackers took care of everything. Thanks guys!)
Possible Apex throttle
Possible rear shock re-valve
Possible Trail Turbo

Next year:
Tri-Hub replacement (Currently has 600 miles on it. Think I'll wait a full season.)
Turbo if not already installed
Possible EVO shocks
Easy oil drain with valve...

I wouldn't hold off on the trihub deal, a 4th wheel kit is very cheap insurance on something that could potential ruin a riding trip.

...

I installed a medium skidoo linq bag on my viper last year and could not be happier with it.
I have a post on here in the viper forum with pics
It holds quite a bit of stuff.
It keeps everything nice and dry even with all the snow the viper throws up on the back of the tunnel.
I have no complaints at all with it.
I like that the linq hardware is cheap and readily available if you want to get creative and make something else fit the rack like a chainsaw or toolbox, etc etc.

I have never seen the powder keg stuff in person so i cant comment on it.

Yup i agree
My bearings were rolling rough after 1800 miles. If i didnt change them i think they might have failed during next season.
it appears that the 16 models now come with replacable bearings in the trihub which is good news.

I hope to get off the lazy chair and install the 4th wheel kit, belt change tool, the clutching I have already purchased clutching on the cheap and re do the crosstour windshield install . Oh yea a good wash and wax!
