hey guys, it's that time of year again and just wondering what you guys do to prepare your sled for storage. here is a list I plan on doing, and maybe you guys can share what you do for summer storage preparation.
Blowing out clutches
Adding stabilizer to a full fresh tank of fuel
Elevating rear of sled
Wax entire sled
Grease skid
Disconnect battery and remove
Cover with old bed sheets to keep dust off

Depending on where you are storing it, I'd mouse proof it too..Shove steel wool in the exhaust outlet, and either put dryer sheets or cotton balls with peppermint oil at various places on and in the sled. Leave yourself a BIG note on the gauge cluster to remind yourself what you did so you can remove everything before you start it in the fall/winter

greasing all fittings
pulling airbox and cleaning
filling with 91 octane and stabilizer(sea foam)
ckecking drive and jack shaft bearings
tightening steering
clean and wax
cover in garage

I'll be keeping it in my garage. I usually put traps along the walls and stuff a rag into exhaust. It's a 4 yr old house, and I haven't come across any mice yet! Lol

I am having to store my sled in a portable shelter while my parents garage is being built this summer. I see people are filling up the tank with premium. Is that better then leaving the tank mostly empty? Also it gets pretty toasty in the covered shelter, should I be worried about anything with the sled in there? I will have it up on pallets as well.
Thanks,
Chris

Preferably you want to fill the tank with non ethanol fuel to avoid phase separation. The idea of filling it up avoids having air in the take that can condensate and leave water behind.
In the spring I run my sled to make sure the stabilizer is in the injection system, then fill it up. In December during xmas usually siphon it out and dump it in my suv and refill with new fuel. A little excessive but have never had a problem and never wasted a drop of fuel.

Wondering if it's ok to put my trailering cover on it in the garage or would this hold moisture under the cover on those muggy days?

My self I don't cover in the garage because I have no covers just a old blanket on cab but past sleds have been covered with no issues!Wondering if it's ok to put my trailering cover on it in the garage or would this hold moisture under the cover on those muggy days?

Your in a stage of denial. I think TY needs to start a support thread. My brother said he is really depressed he can't ride his new sled anymore. If he knew hew was going to feel like this he would have never bought it. Anyways back to topic!IS winter really over guys? Fuel -I siphon down to 1-2 gallons, sea foam and run through the system and in fall/first ride I fill with fresh Minnesota 10% ethanol 87 octane gas -plenty of Ethanol to pick up small amount of condensation/ water from over summer storage in building with cement floor and they have started and run great.
Of course as said oil change and filter (? if needed each time), clean and grease and battery get optimax Charged a few times over summer. OH yea and check skid for rough bearings & worn slides and skis check for loose linkage and worn carbides. As I have gotten older broken skid parts are much less............not sure why as I am heavier? Maybe they make them better or Hmmmm may be that I ride different? My two 2010's are still on the OEM batteries............may be pushing my luck. But hey next year will have a heated garage to change out if needed.

I do, only because the skid is already out for inspection, so upon reinstall it does not get tightened till next fall. Only enough now to be run up and trued.Do you guys loosen the track like it says in the manual?
