Summer toy for TY riders

I dont own the boat but I share the expenses with my father and can use it anytime I will have to post a pic from home when I get there. Its a 23' Stingray with the 454 Magnum I/O its pretty fast maybe 65 70. very stable has hydralic trim tabs etc threw hull exhaust scares the crap out of yah when you ski behind it.

SINCE YOU GUYS ARE ON THE SUBJECT, how can I get a little more top end out of my 1990 Checkmate 220 vision bowrider ? it has a 350 chevy in it with 270hp and goes 61mph now, and thats with a 21.5 degree prop. when I put the 23 degree on there I lose way to much out of the hole. Can you guys tell me who makes a good set of headers for this thing ? I would like to bump the hp up to just over 300. Or if you guys have any other suggestion's I would appreciate them.

Got to go home now and regripp the golf club's, going to Myrtle beach for a week over Easter.

Custom Marine make a nice set of headers...I'm more of an O/B guy. There isn't the same kind of setup tricks with a sterndrive (kinda hard to raise the engine) so basically you're stuck with adding hp until you reach your goal. Boost makes good power ;).

ok, time for pictures of my boat which I picked up last summer..........

Take a look. This will give you additional bow lift without using so much trim that your line of thrust is compromised. It's expensive, but it works, and doesn't affect your hole-shot for skiing.

Mark O, that is a nice 'bu.
Would have been great in my (young & stupid) footing days. Now I'd need its speed because I'm old and fat (240 lbs.) :tg:

Seeing that we're posting pics. of summer toys picked up over the winter...... here's something I found in the big D in November.

I didnt know Canadian Tire made and sold boats. :D

I've worked the Toronto boat show for like 15years or so and without fail someone says that. What's worse is they actually mean it!!

The company I work for, actually was the distributor for Mastercraft boats...They are excellent!! You made a great choice.

You know what they say-
"For some things there's a question about money...... for everything else, there's MasterCraft."

Now that you know what it looks like, flag me down at Madge Lake!

What year is the Conqueror? 73, 74? Does it still have the hook molded into the fiberglass where the stern and the bottom meet. My dad had one back in the 70's and did 55 mph with a 120 Chysler on it, and was very stable, but then my Uncle ( who worked for Crysler outboats in the r&d dept.at the time) sanded off the hook an turned it into a piece of crap. Made it very unstable at high speeds.

Wolfman

Yeah, its still got the hook. The only reason yours was stable was because you didn't go OVER 55.

HOW THE HELL did you get it to go 55 with a chrysler 120? I couldn't get it over 43 with the mercury tower of power 115. You sure you didn't mean 45?

PS: Dont know what year it is.
