I modified my quite track by cutting the bumps with a vibrating tool used for cutting wood trim. I set the cutter at 90° and rough cut the bumps, finished off with a small die grinder with red scotch pad. I run the doubles with SS studs. 5,500 miles and held up well. I lost 3 last year up in Big Bay Michigan from hitting a rock, other than that no issues!

I drilled track as per normal. Get regular hole drill that is sixe og head diameter of stud. Make/buy/fabricate a pilot (same size as hole for stud only w no flutes, just plain solid rod) to drive hole drill which will be centered on hole for stud by pilot. Take hole drill and drill into wood (or some other suitable material) that is correct thickness to act as a stop against track so it only goes into track the depth you want (thickness of stud head). It might take a couple of attempts to find correct thickness of material. Leave that piece of material on hole drill. Drill each stud location for head. Finally, use die grinder w smallish ball cutter (the one made and intended for aluminum works good) to remove the circle of track material inside the shallow hole. Stud will sit perfectly once installed and not hit wheels, etc. Track remains very quiet too. Worked for me great.

Finally I have made a tool with a 1" wood drill bit on wich I have weld a 1/4" rod to be perfectly aligned with the stud hole and it work very well.

Great idea, would this tool work with the track still in the sled? Finally I have made a tool with a 1" wood drill bit on wich I have weld a 1/4" rod to be perfectly aligned with the stud hole and it work very well.

Yes but you have to remove the rear suspension skid to have enough room.Great idea, would this tool work with the track still in the sled?

I just finished to install them and I have set my track tension 2" under the slides at 20lbs. Is it too loose ?
Yes too loose. I am tuned, but run the track very tight and have no issues with slider wear.

I forgot to mention that my stud have a lengh of 1.375''. Did you loose some top speed after installing your studs?Yes too loose. I am tuned, but run the track very tight and have no issues with slider wear.
No, but i gained a hell of allot of quickness! 192 Megabites 1.57" with aluminum backers. I do like the idea of these lighter backers however, i have singles now every other bar and the single pro lites don't seem to come very highly recommended.

IMO - use only double ProLites. Don't recommend singles.
Here is a YouTube video on how to tension your track.
I use 1.62" Stud Boy Lake Racer carbides mounted on Stud Boy ProLite double backers in center of stock track with NO tunnel protection and studs have never hit anything. IMO - if your studs hit, your track is too loose.
