Interesting concept, but by driving the charger off the secondary it would appear to me that the greatest advantage of supercharge is no longer present. Crank driven chargers will spool up quicker and create much more low end torque. If driving off the secondary its not going to build any boost until the sled starts moving. Just my quick thoughts.

I agree. The amount of boost would be directly related to the speed of the vehicle. So there would be little boost at slower speeds. And you would only have full boost at high speeds. Definitely not how I would want my power delivered.Interesting concept, but by driving the charger off the secondary it would appear to me that the greatest advantage of supercharge is no longer present. But companies many times will patent something even if the don't intend to manufacture it - the patent will prevent someone else from making it.

I like the cold starting aspect of it. Although my apex with the MPI at -22F whirled over and fired so not sure how much smaller starter they could use. That like a 1 lb savings? Also weird to see it in the nytro drawings. I think Turtle is right, this is just a formality to lock it up and probably wont be made.

Looks like a Nytro chassis ? I liked everything about that chassis but the steering and the front suspension. Move a smaller engine back and down . Move the steering post more vertical and put a Mono shock for the rear then a cat front end on it and I'll buy one

I like the idea, you only can put so much power to the ground at lower speeds so why not build power as you go faster? Great setup for a trail sled and bad for a powder sled. How many Winders can actually get enough traction below 60mph to effectively use all 200hp without a boatload of studs under ideal conditions?

Why is this in a nytro chassis? It really brings up a lot of questions. The last nytro chassis was built 5 years ago so why is it coming back? It just doesn't make sense in my eyes. I feel like they would use a new chassis to put it in like the cat chassis.

It takes on average about 5 years for a patent to get issued, so it would make sense that the initial art work would be based off a Nytro. Also another possible factor could be that while the Nytro chassis design belongs to Yamaha, the Viper/Sidewinder chassis technically is the property of Arctic Cat and therefore would not be used by Yamaha for patent application purposes. Why is this in a nytro chassis? I would have no issues with a nytro chassis if they put an updated front end on it and a mono shock skid in the rear. They could easily update ergonomics with an updated seat and revised steering post. The nytro chassis is such an easy sled to work on.

Yes , it is .. I worked on my brothers all the time doing just preventive maintenance. I think it was a great chassis with the some changes and new body panels . I want 125HP, 20 MPG , lighter weight and dependable . I need them to bring something before next year . Its time to buy a new one !!

It's has everything I want and nothing I don't need . I'll live with the 600 . If I take care of it I'm hoping for 8/10 k before rebuild .

That's a great sled and the one I would buy if picking a cat.... If you can leave it alone (no engine mods) and ride normal I can attest you will go way beyond your expectations . Just stay on top of yearly maintenance front to back! and use there oil. I know of 3 of theses motors that are over 10 k in miles and they are flawless yet. Again … very thorough care. Nothing I haven't done on my Yamahas .If they don't bring something good I'm going with this .......
