I just got my new supertrax and was reading the various reviews and payed special attention to the review of the Attak. They Listed Highs and lows for over 125 sleds, here's the lows for the Attak: "How about None" That was the quote Word for word
Lows for the RTX and GT were the ornamental windshield. They prefered the Piggy backs on the GT over the Floats.
Somethings up, for years supertrax dogged Yamaha relentlessly. You think maybe Yamaha has really turned up the heat? After going to the Novi Snow show and seeing all the sleds up close and personal, I think they have big time. I ran into a buddy that was there with his brother inlaw looking for his first sled. I asked him what he thought so far and he said those Yamaha's sure are nice. For the record, this guy isn't a Brand Loyal zombie like my buddy, he's a Polaris guy

I read in the season opener edition of SuperTrax where they stated they had lots of complaints with Yamaha in the past, especially how they kept the same rear suspension forever. They made a point about how Yamaha totally retooled a line after only 3 seasons (RX platform to Apex/Attak).
You're right, SuperTrax is really behind Yamaha right now and that is not something they do unless they firmly believe it.

Just think about the guys that got to ride them this spring. They were blown away too! You could just tell by their comments. They could hardly express in words how wonderful these machine really are! I had been hearing for the past several years that Yamaha had something coming that was going to blow everyone away and I think this must be it! THE APEX which means the peak!

Im yet to read a really bad review for any of the '06 Yamahas.
The biggest complain any of them have had is that they arent as "flickable" as a 2-stroke. If thats the best they can come up with to complain about, Yamaha did a pretty good job.
I think that Yamaha has the competition running scared. BRP is bashing the 4-strokes every chance they get (have you see the BRP ad that says, "If you want 4-stroke feel buy a 2-TEC SDI and a 40-pound rock!"?)
It seems like Polaris is the best of the rest as far as 4-strokes go, with their 130-hp FST, but that certainly wont give the Apex riders any worries, but it might give the Vector a run for it's money.
Ive also heard a lot of rumors about Cat coming out with a new chassis with a sled of new 4-strokes that supposedly will include some Suzuki crotchrocket motors.
All in all, its going to be interesting to see what Cat, Doo and Poo come up with to compete with Yamaha.
