I was just watching OLN and noted that the series Survivorman was on. Les Stroud is the host and he showed some video of my community Pond Inlet for his show on survival in the High Arctic. If you wish to see what spring is like here, try to catch that show.

I was actually the Regional Director who approved his request for a show, but insisted that he bring a gun. He did not show the video of the bear that came within 30 feet when he was sleeping, but showed the paw prints. Only thing though, he had a Polaris POS and that is why it broke down. :4STroke:

I've been watching that show on Science Channel. Les does an amazing job with the photography by himself out on his adventures.

I enjoyed his show, but unfortunately for him, he did not ask about edibles on the land so he only ate some willow buds. There were quite a few edibles that he just passed. Thanks Todd, and if you watch the High Arctic survival show, that is here, about 60 miles east of the community.

Yes I saw the High Arctic show, too bad he didn't show the Polar bear! :tg:

That is the only time of the year, when he is filming for the week, that the snow softens enough to get some good playtime on the machines. I will be doing that later in the spring...Still too rock hard at present. Another two months or so...

PS...Forgot that it also runs on Discovery Channel :moon:

There were lots of POS pieces he could have used for parts and survival items. Yamahammer, that is an awesome machine, I hope to have my VMAX (son's now) 600 looking like that after I order some more parts that I found in my catalogues for the old twin 600.

Thanks RX-E!

The 136" is awsome, unless my riding style ever changes, it will always be a long tracked sled that I buy. There is a hidden drawback though, none of my freinds can follow me in the back country with their sleds so I have to ride alone while they wait for me to finsh up my session and that sucks to have them wait. Or they try it and get stuck, haha.

It was really easy to make my venutre perform and look like this, just basically changed out the seat and alot of other stuff, but no motor work done besides the reeds. I took this pic at 18 000kms too!

Science Channel just ran this epsiode again over the past weekend.

Yup i bet the polar bears are very interseted in your village,to them you look yummy for lunch lol, great pics, keep them coming.

They look just as yummy to this Eskimo, mnmsnowbeast. We still hunt them for the food more than the fur. I will see if I have any old PB pictures.

The 121" is basically a town and flat area machine only...They get stuck too often and sink faster...

Here is a picture of when most of the snow melts, kind of like when survivorman was here, but the ice is still frozen and good for usage. Last three weeks of snowmobile season in June.
