I dumped the OEM 8JP belt and found the carbon fiber belt to be more consistent for top speed. Just held its grip better, OEM would slip and glaze over a bit. Plus tons of belt dust...

So by tightening the center shock it will basically lift the front end of the sled?If the snow was loose it would account for squirrels back end and lower speed. Lightening the center shock will put more pressure on skis and make less traction on the throttle. Try going tighter.
Put more of the track on the ground right?

I have an RTX. I sucked up the strap one hole and loosened the center shock spring as loose as I could. The sled handled on rails but steering effort was very high. I tightened the center shock spring until I found a happy medium. Occasionally I get a little inside ski lift, but the sled is much easier to turn now that I tightened the spring 3-4 turns.

Maybe that’s what I’ll do then, back it all the way off and go from there.I have an RTX. I sucked up the strap one hole and loosened the center shock spring as loose as I could. Another question to whoever knows,
Can I put the QS3 shocks from the rtx on the ltx, and the ltx shocks on the rtx? I know my fiancé will never use those shocks the way I do. Lol

The front shocks are interchangeable. The rear Qs3 is a different length.

I know, the OEM belt is a mess. I've been vary happy with Gates 8JP Carbon Fiber equivilant. Much cleaner and more consistent.

I really loved the Gates CF belt. Pulled hard and ran very clean. I got almost 4k miles on it before it failed. The only issue I had was the black crap that set up on my clutch surfaces.I know, the OEM belt is a mess. I've been vary happy with Gates 8JP Carbon Fiber equivilant. Much cleaner and more consistent.

I just backed off spring completely, 12 turns total, 10 turns snug. Heading out to test now while trails are finally open from home. I will make adjustments as needed, but right now I basically have power steering and I’m not even moving lol...that’s backed off all the way.

So I started with 10 turns backed off from where it was, the sled was pushing to much so I tightened it up 4 more turns. Worked much better, but still a little light on the front end. Tightened up 2 more turns and I think I’ve got it where I want it. Had no idea adjusting a spring would have such an affect on handling. Thanks for all the help guys!

Yes the center shock will have a dramatic effect on feel and performance. Don't forget to dial in your ride height. Keep track of the changes you make as your dialing in for your riding style. As you begin to understand what the changes your making and the effects they have you can then use yourself, rider in-put to improve or compensate for conditions.

Ideally you want rear in middle of top out and transfer blocks. It's possible if over 250# otherwise springs are too stiff. What is ride height and how do i set it up?

My 16 RTX has the qs3’s not air shock center spring is straight rate. I’m gonna try the cat 16 upgrade spring which is dual rate spring 90/250 and see if that will help soften it up for smaller bumps, is anyone else running that on the RTX ?. Has anybody tried the Highgear 2 stage springs on the front with the QS3 ? Re valve of rear shock helped a bunch but I’m still generally on softest spring setting and 1 on the shock . When it’s warm and beat up I’ll go to 2 on the spring or shock but that’s rare. The RTX is one super stiff set up
