Suspension upgrade for Apex Mountain?

What claim? Its an advertisment. If there is a claim, they already disproved it themselves as its just marketing B.S.

I never said to use an expertX in the mountains. I said to use a lightweight expertX IMITATION. You know, those suspensions that YOU'VE NEVER SEEN, but which are raved about by just about everybody with a modified mountain sled.

iam definitly not looking for a fight here but the m-10 is one of the most used & impressive to watch when climbing skids i have ever seen.all of the big mod shops & hill climbers use them.the reason iam looking at other skids is the price plain & simple a light weight m-10 cost big dollers over 5000$ can to get one that weighs less than 50lbs wich to me seems like someone is making to much money somewhere off of it. i have not heared much good about ekholm lots of probs. :o| :o|

totally forgot about this post.

but now I'm looking after a whole new skid. Heard you can't beat the price of a Cat skid, and that the 153" will fit right in? how true is this, and does anybody have prices on different skids?

thanks

I know there is a guy in Alta that had some Öhlins shocks made for his Apex Mountain skid and front suspention. They were expencive, but according to him they made a huge difference.

If you look under the RX/RS mountain section you will find lots of post on the ac skid subject. But the skidmods are done on RXM. They have used the 153" skid with 162 Mav. track. They have used the the OEM front holes, but made new dropplates/tunnelbrackets.

Are u selling your skid - if so price?

My sled isn't an APEX but I will be putting either Holz Racing Products skids in both; the Polaris and SCRX-1 or, a HRP in the Polaris and Bullydog Technology Skid in the SCRX-1. Both spray25 and Tundra have the Bullydog skids and like them. My modified Pro-Action mimics both of these skids but is till the heavy stock suspension. The ride is definately alot better though. A couple of guys have done my mod. So far I haven't seen any hate mail from them telling me I'm fugged in the head ;)! .

I see that you use a MPI tunnel extention - is it stronger than the Hartman inc. extention?. I want to change the OEM tunnel extention, but I still need a towhitch on my RX1M.

I like the Hartman rearbumper, but the MPI finish. read your former post on the subject. I understand that both need to be reenforced with a towhitch (not sure about spelling)

My MPI is fairly strong. I weigh 285 lbs with gear and, have used it as a seat a few times. I'm not sure about the strength of the Hartman extension. I am also planing on changing to a different bumper that is spendy compaired to the cost of these extensions but it offers the quality fit of MPI's tunnel ext with a ergonomic rear bumper like the Hartman kit. It is from Timbersleds and cost $149.95+S/H. Here is a picture of it.

BLGS: do you have any prices on any of those skids? The reason I wan't an M7, s it's light and you should be able to get it used for a fair price.

Have looked at Mountain Adioction and Ekholm, but don't think I want to throw all that cash away.

Ask and you shall recieve; The HRP is $1450 and I assume is the same as the RX-1 skid. The picture of the APEX I have attached looks identical to RXFun's RX-1 skid (he runs a Holz on his TRX). The Holz Racing is in the APEX. Here's the link to the online catalog which has a parts rundown http://www.holzracingproducts.com/oscom ... cts_id=211 .

I don't have a price for the BDT skid pictured in Tundra's RX-1 with a wildchild rider forward post relocation kit. Try sending him a PM on the cost.

thnaks, both looks great. Do you have any links/prices for those, could'nt find any info on holtzmaneng.com?

I was editing the same time you posted. That is RipnTear's APEX if you want to PM him and make sure it is the same as the RX-1. Bully Dog doesn't have their skid listed online. They mainly deal in deisel performance. Here's their web site anyhow. http://www.bullydog.com/

www.holzracingproducts.com for the holz skid. Them other skid is actually called K-mod, bullydog is a dealer fot it. You can get hold of Kevin at 1-208-681-0348. The RX1 skid is 1050 usd. You will reuse your front shock and lower bracket. The holz comes with a different center shock, maybe that why its a little more. Both skids are pretty much the same thing. Not sure if the Holz really drops 34lbs, since 8lbs is in getting rid of the stock yami brackets, which would put it about 24lbs, same as K-mod claims, Tundra said his down 21.5lbs, so pretty close to advertised.
