Hey guys my best good buddy just texted me "can you get your hands on an ECU" i said what the heck r u talking about.??! well turns out he bought an apex gt just like mine from a dealer in southern WI last spring and was soon to discover that the suspension wasnt working properly and he cant adjust it at all set completly soft. he took it to a repair shop and they simply stated "you need a new ECU" can anyone shed some kind of light on this one for me as to what actualy controlles the suspension(besides the blue buton on the bar lol) and woould any of you have a line in one. BTW we are planning on rideing this weekend and any fast help would be awsome Thanks Guys!!! :rocks:

normaly yes but they said the wires were fine and the ecu is bad is there a ecu for the shock?

The gauge pod controls the shock,

You have to remove the tape around the wire close to the shock to really see if the wire are good or not, did they do that?

Does the shock icon come up on the pod?

not sure what all they did but will be able to do anything tomorrow when we get together
so i will need to inspect the wires beter and if the shock dont come up on the display then what will that mean?

BTW how long do I need to be a member on this site to no longer be a newbie?

usually when there is no icon the wires are broken,

the wire insulator stops about 3'' before the connector close to the shock (you need to remove the tape to see that),

take a look at that, than take it from there,

i don't know why Yamaha would do that, it's not a problem waiting to happen, it's a problem that's happening,

also some have said that there solenoid stop working, which is in the shock, under $100,

post back when you take a look at the wires and tell us what you find if anything,

now you are a veteran...;-)

Sorry for hyjacking this thread but. . . My question is how do I know if the electronic adjustment is working on my shock? It's hard to tell by the feel of the ride. The icon does come up on my gauge pod. Thanks

:rocks:

Thanks for the upgrade.

talked to my buddy last night he stated that the icon dont come up on his screen at all so i will look at it tonight when we hook up.

Missile it is not a real dramatic change but you should be able to adjust so you dont bottom out on moderatly bumpy ride and smooth out on fast runs.
the longer i have had the sled the more i can notice it but most of the time i set it and forget it if im shooting a lake and want every last mph i will drop it all the way down other wise i leave it 3 bars from the top almost all the time.

also he just informed me that when the dealer hooked up a diffrent ecu to it it worked so i guess that must be the problem. So my question anyone have one for sale???
