Has anyone here swapped the shock cap on a fox float3 to the cap hygear sells for the rear shock? I have the cap unscrewed from the body but I cannot unscrew the internal shaft from the cap itself? Thanks in advance

You have to use a little heat on the cap to break the loctite. The shaft should be held in a vice with clamping blocks so it's not damaged. I made my own out of a small block of aluminum stock. I first drilled the proper size hole then cut it in half.

Ok thanks I will try some heat! I really never thought of it having loc tite on it

Yes and use plenty of Loctite when putting it back on. Red. You wouldn't think it but I was experimenting with different length eyes right on trail and in 10 mi the shaft unthreaded on one. Spring and retainer both had to be searched for and luckily I was going straight or I would have crashed for sure since shock dug into snow and ground. Pretty embarrassing for a shock guy and I will never chance it again even experimenting.
