Thats what I was thinking. Im pretty sure when the steering post is in stock position, you can flip the stock bracket upside down to put the gauge lower in front of the bars. But I don't know if it would work with the steering post switched around. I'll have to check later.

had to loosen the tach due to limited height inside my trailer. Will relocate it anyway somewhere.. who's got the smartest solution?

Dropped mine down to the headlight bezel, love the position
already rolled the sled once.. (maybe twice) saved $$$ already.
with a stock handlebar you can still see the gauge sitting down
I put a 2 inch riser on, now I have to look through the mtn bar if sitting.. but really I rarely look at the gauge, unless I need reverse or to put the hand warmers on...

Well, I relocated mine today. All I did was switch the stock mounting bracket around so that it sits lower out in front of the bars. At first I switched my steering block around so that the gauge mounting holes were in the side where the gas tank is. But in order to mount the gauge, you need to fabricate a new bracket. You can't just flip the stock bracket upside down when its on the other side of the bars. I didnt feel like it doing any fabrication, so I put the steering post back in stock position and just flipped the gauge mounting bracket upside down. I think I like it better this way anyway, as opposed to having the gauge sitting above the gas tank. I'll post some pics later.

Yes, you can see it clearly.
The bracket that holds the gauge is "L" shaped. To improve visibility a little bit more, I bent the stock bracket so that it was more of a "V" shape. Not like and actual "V" obviously, but you get the idea. It makes it so that the gauge is more pointed at you rather than straight up. But it is clearly visible when sitting down without bending the bracket. I'll have pics posted before the evening.

This is about at my eye level. And I'm a smaller guy.
This is just looking straight down at it.
I like it muuch better where its at. Its perfect. It make the whole sled look better in my opinion. No more gauge sticking up 5" above the bars.

it DEFINATLY looks better. Still not sure it won't brake if you flip the sled, but prhaps the bracket will bend before the tach brakes, atleast if you get a good clean hit right at it... time will tell, I'm sure somebody will flip REAL soon.. LOL

For those of you flipping the bracket upside down like phazed. Make sure you put some sort of trim on the edge of the bracket (sharp edge) to protect the throttle cable as it rubs on this edge, I'd hate for someone to have it fail and cause an even bigger problem I think some type of automotive trim would work. I flipped mine the day I took the sled out of the crate and after just a few miles of riding the bracket had a half moon wore into it because of this very issue.

I'll take note of that. It didn't seem like it was rubbing on any sharp edges, but I'll take a look to make sure.
I rolled my FX on really hardpacked snow (almost like ice)
a couple of days ago. Nothing broke, and the sled rolled over 3 or 4 times.
I did get some air in the coolingsystem, with overheating issues as a result. But i when i air bleeded my system it was fine.
