First you should check the bulb and if the bulb is not out you need to check the signal fuse.
There is a fusebox located with a wiring harness to the right side of the sled (drivers position) underneath your dash panel (probably under your ignition switch somewhere)
There is a key on the inside cover of the fuse box i think the one you want is the second one it is a 10 amp "SIG" is the term on the key.
If the fuse is fine check your connection underneath the seat by your right leg

Apexg88 you were right, the sig fuse controls the light as well as the reverse beeper..my fuse was blown so I replaced the fuse and everything worked until I pressed the brake lever and it blew again..
After some further troubleshooting,I found the return wire from the brake lever was squished against the bolt that holds the brake assembly therefore shorting it to ground. A quick wrap of electrical tape and I'm good to go
