Tall nuts

Me and my g/f and a bud of mine all run the nylon backers, havent lost 1 yet in 3 years of riding on any sled.
Our 2 run about 1000 miles a year , my bud well over 2k a season, he lives on the trail so he rides to work, the store whatever he wants to.

The two sizes of tall nuts are 1/2" and 3/4".

1/2" for 1.325"-1.40" studs
3/4" for 1.45" and bigger.

if you use to tall of a nut on the shorter studs you wont get any penatration because it will be to far up on the stud shank.

standard stud nut=3 grams
3/4" tall nut=4 grams
1/2" sold out so dont know but i would say 3 grams
mack nut=4 grams
mack support washer=4 grams

if i were to go with a setup it would be just the taller nuts.they are cheaper and lighter then other options.

If weight is your number 1 concern, don't buy the Macks. If you are looking for quality and long life the Macks kick #*$&@.

In have used the fastrac polymer backers for many years..and they are incredible...never had any issues to date....i wouldnt recommend NYLON backers though,seen them come apart before..

only plastic backers i would ever use would be fast trac polymer,which i ONLY use...never would i use alum or steel..alum bend too much and steel wayy too heavy...i would however recommend the XL thicker polymers with a longer stud like the 1.325s or more....Im using the Xls and the short barrel tall nuts,which still leaves me just enough for good penetration.

i used the mack spacers too.
i looked into prices before i bought and you can get the mack spacers for at least half of the cost of the woodies nuts. yes they do weigh a little bit more but over all on 144 studs you are only talking about ounces. not too big of a deal to me
first time using mack studs and spacers. curious to see how they hold up.
