Ok boys I have a question, dont ask why but i had to the fuel filter/pump out this weekend on my gas tank for my 06 Apex RTX, while putting it back together the o-ring part number 6 on the finch was very streched out, making it impossible to have a proper seal so the tank just leaked, I looked on the finch to see how it went back together and the diagram looked weird showing the o-ring actually fits on top of the pump. In the gas tank its self there is a groove in it, making sense that the o-ring actually sits in side of the groove?? Am i retarded or is the finch wrong??
Any input would be awsome.

I race a R1 and swap gas tanks to save my good one in case of a crash. Looks the same as on my bike, same connector and all (#15) and the o-ring fits over the white round fuel pump so that when you drop it in it seals to the tank. Then the metal ring goes on with the bolts to hold it all together. My guess is microfiche is wrong.

Mike I tried putting the o-ring on the white fuel pump there is no way that can stay on while you put the metal ring on it. Im just pissed. Weekend was shot.

I need to ask why did you take this apart? And 2nd that o ring is typically a little bigger 9from being pushed down just take your time and it will work for ya. You should be able to use the same on as long as it's not damaged, otherwise just get a new seal. I have swapped pumps and never installed new seals (unless damaged)

Sorry to hear that Yamaslob. From what I remember the o-ring was a snug fit on the fuel pump. I store my good stuff inside so I took a picture of my gas tank where the fuel pump bolts on. The brown rust looking area is where the o-ring sat. The pump had a lip on it that held the o-ring in place and the metal ring bolted into the holes and squished the lip of the fuel pump to the o-ring. They might be a different set up on the sled. Possible you need a new o-ring. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
PS One thing to try if the o-ring is too big, put it in the freezer for a few minutes and see if it shrinks enough to stay on. I hate to see anyone lose seat time with the short season's, sorry I couldn't be more help.

I managed to have one of the nozzles from one of my gas cans come out into the tank
