Agree. Sad thing is you buy a $22,000 sled and you have to spend another grand before you can ride it reliably. But fasteners & washers are killing us. Lol. I make a bet, piece by piece a new sled would be 60,000 (exaggerated) but I think you get the point.

Like adding 20+ HP to engine!I feel I can get you within 200 rpm on the dyno, the biggest thing is we can look at the acceleration rate and RPM graph and see exactly what change did what, much in the same you can with your datalogging out in the field, but when lack of snow or time happens, then our track dyno is very good. @Turboflash went through 98 runs total in about a 24 hour time (3 hours on Thursday and 5 hours on Friday, roughly). We gained 10 hp to the track from our first runs to our best runs on both pump gas & race gas.

Truth. It's not the if something lets loose, it's the when.Agree. Sad thing is you buy a $22,000 sled and you have to spend another grand before you can ride it reliably.
It's the experience within this group & it's vendors that have taken the time to figure things out to create a near perfect sled that has the potential to give a very solid, trouble free lifecycle.
You should see the goings on @ "Camp Boost" it's very reminiscent of the old days. Guys Poppin pistons, reed failure, drivability issues, etc.
BTW, changing reads on a Boost takes well over 3 hours for most.
Back in the day we'd pull the airbox pop the rack off, swap reads and be back in the game. What 30mins? Lol.

Really like the track dyno because it really helps dial in clutching. Also find out how far off or how close your power is compared to what your chosen tuner advertises! Some are off more than others.Very impressive number, Turbo. Like icing on the cake.....
Mine was pretty close.

Pinnin' it!
Maybe a dumb question, but since this thread has morphed into an "anything goes" topic, is there a way to data log these sleds with anything other than the gap flasher using TD/Hurricane/Turbor tunes? Say if a fella has PEFI tunes and wants to data log...

Heat Shield fasteners... Do these retainers face up or down? Install would be flat washer locking washer retainer and bolt, as the schematic shows. It seems like it would be washer, retainer, star lock, bolt. Where the retainer would hold the star washer from getting lost. I know... I'm just as disappointed as you guys are.
Update: done.

It's just my opinion, on that mid pipe heat shield. Would never break, if you were to use thread locker and let that shield float, just a bit.

This is what will work, in the correct size of course.
