my LTX SE decals on the exhaust side are in poor shape due to staining from the exhaust gases. I regularly clean them but now are permanently stained.
I will replace them this summer and I am wondering if tear offs are a good idea to put over these decals?
Anyone have experience with this?

That sounds very strange.
If you replace them, heat and peel off, need to make sure the panel is clean, use alcohol.
Id try and get new ones on warranty (those stickers are expensive ) never heard of stickers being permanently stained! Try Superclean!

I used simple green to clean my red side panels and decals and they now look like new.

ok, I used spray 9 today that got rid of most of the exhaust but still not as white as a new decal. looks ok but not new. I will try to get a new decal from the dealer and try to protect this from happening again.
It is unfortunate the placement o this white decal, but I remember cleaning the belly pan on my SRX as well.

I have considered this also. Does it look OK?

I have decals on the side of the tunnel starting to peel and the dealer ordered me new ones. Back order. Imagine that.
