This has happened on 2 occasions now. My temp gauge will go back and forth from reading normal to reading cold. When it changes to a cold reading it's sometimes low enough to turn on the low temp warning like at startup and prevent the engine from reving up. The first time was at the end of December, we were on our way back to the truck, loaded it up and it hasn't done it again until last night. Last night it started doing it, pulled into a restaurant to eat. When we left it wasn't doing it anymore. Both times this happened was during a freezing mist/rain. Thinking some kind of electrical short.

Maybe a dirty connection.

Had that happen to me. It would switch to reading cold while riding. It would read so cold it would tell the ECU that the engine isn't up to temp and wouldn't let the rpm go high enough to engage the clutch. I checked the resistance of the temp sensor when I got home and it was 30 deg off. Got the sensor replaced under warranty and have had no problem since
