Well the sleds all ripped apart and I have been searching the forums and reading about temperature gauges, I see ulmer racing sells one but and not sure where to mount it that would make it easy to see, I have seen others using the Autometer c2 then buying the hose splicer and the mounting cup from other places, but that all adds up. I want something that's reliable and easy to see when riding, I don't like the heat light on the nytro because when I'm ripping through the trails I'm not sure I would notice if it came on and wouldn't want to ruin the engine. What would you guys recommend?

I had Ulmer's on my last Apex, worked excellent! Velcrowed it to the bar pad.

I put on a koso gauge BA024B11. Very small size. Numbers are bright blue. Should be very easy to see in all conditions. Price was only $45. Suprising how big the numbers are for it's size. They also make one that reads in celsius in red.

I used the ulmer one, (daytona I believe) worked great. I put it just in front of the fuel cap. Easy to look down and check temp, back lit so no problems at night. Also shows time of day, which I missed coming from an apex. The unit is totally sealed as well, I never had an issue with mine and would recommend it to anyone. By mounting it were I did, I could remove all the normal pannels and service/inspect the sled, when doing the donuts, which required tank removal I could just pop the pannel off and roll it over the steering gate or unplug it if needed.

The Koso gauges are sweet!

Ya that is nice, do all the prosport gauges change colour as they get hotter or just the digital series, because I see they have that ring around the number that goes green yellow then red as the temp rises

One other thing is the water gauge sender adapter, I know the size should be 26mm but I have checked a couple places (From Ontario) and the smallest sizes they have had were 28mm I know that's a little big but would that work or would that be a bad idea since it would be tight, I don't know if that would cause the hose to split in the future or not.

Yes, you can make a 28mm adapter fit. Here's a link to an install I did on my Nytro a few years ago: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... light=temp

I now have transferred the gage over to my Apex.
Here's a pic of it mounted inside the handlebar cover

I ordered a mini temp guage from SLP for under $50 US. Simple, but seems accurate and that's really all I wanted.

I installed a Glowshift digital temp gauge. Bright enough to see easily in the daylight. Two years and no problems. You can also check out the Koso Slim Style Temp Meter: http://www.kosonorthamerica.com/new/sho ... %E2%84%83/

Smaller than the round gauge and easier to mount. Under $50 from eBay. Use the hose T adapter from Ulmer and you are all set to go. I bought one to replace my Glowshift - haven't installed it yet. If you so a search on Koso in the Nytro section there is someone who installed one on his Nytro.

I highly recommend you DO NOT buy glowshift gauges. Yes they look good and "work" but their accuracy is total #*$&@.

Reason being, when I boosted my car this summer I had a glowshift oil pressure gauge available to use, and when I compared it to a calibrated 150$ gauge, it was over 20psi off!

You gauge may be reading the temp, but how accurate is my concern, you may see 205-210F on the gauge, when really the motor is at 230+ big difference IMO. My $0.02

I have my gauge now but haven't gotten around to installing it, can it be installed to an accessory outlet in the fuse panel I dont want to wire it to something like the headlights or something and if a fuse ever blew be with out lights. I have read post of people using the blue white or red white wire.
