No, this is not a pun, it has nothing to do with Ski Doo. I have a chance to purchase what is essentially a nearly unused 2005 RS series sled w/ 37 miles on it. From what I gather, it has been reasonably well stored and the mileage is genuine... But that remains to be seen. I am aware of most of the pitfalls that may be encountered from storage and minimal use, and also know the Deltabox sleds and their quirks/issues quite well. The real questions are am I being a little too nostalgic? Do I need to be talked down? The price is nice, asking $2700.

Well, I bought an '07 Vector last winter for $2550. Almost mint.
So... I understand it's "new" but...
Figure in another $140 for timing tensioner, gasket, & bolts. Assuming you do all the work yourself. Or roll the dice & hope it never pops.

If it was me I would keep looking. I feel an 08 Vector with the newer body style and the beefed up Mono suspension would be a much better sled than the 05 with the No action suspension . I have seen quite a few in that price range but I'm sure the Mileage would be higher. There is just to many little things you would have to up date with that style of sled to bring it up to the 08 and newer sled.

Here in Canada that is a good deal. They are about 4000 here with 7-8000 miles on them.

Thank you all for the input. It is the same sled model, color and all, that I purchased new in 2005... Suppose I'll mull it over a bit more.

if you are that happy with the one you have why spent 13,000 on a new one? there are so many things I didn't like about the rx-1 and the 07 apex that is why I bought the xtx now if I was looking for a new one I would buy the same sled in a heart beat.

I'd buy one with 4K + miles over one you are looking at. Crazy right!? Here's why. I think there was a tolerance issue on some cranks/rods in 05-06 motors. All motors with rods through block that I've had or heard about had low miles. My theory is if the motor has higher miles it's in the clear as the defect would have surfaced by now. In my opinion low mile Engines are potential bombs.

That's a good point... It turned out to be BS deal anyway. It likely has 37 miles, but it had been stored outside... The too good to be true story fell to pieces quickly.
