I don't get all the disappointed people....the upgrades Yamaha have done are very nice and make GOOD sleds even better....Over the last 6 seasons...every minor issue I felt Yamaha had with their sleds has been addressed...from wheel bearings to skis, to hand warmers...plus several front and rear suspension upgrades...alot of the upgrades have slipped by people un noticed.
So there isn't a brand new chassis this year?? So what...IMO yamaha continues to improve things in their line-up every year. Have you looked around our sport?? Is any manufacturer making a radical new chassis? The answer is no....the market for new sleds is weak....Ski-doo continues to tweek their line-up..but there is nothing radical and new there either. (and the folks at Doo Talk are complaining over there too)
I can't wait to see what the review on the new single shot suspension will be...if it's what yamaha says it is...then the one issue I thought yamaha needed the most work on...has been solved...and already good sleds are even better.
As far as HP goes....why do they need a 170-180 HP sled?? My 2011 Apex runs well against any stock 800. (depending on distance of the race..you will trade wins all day)
I really like what I see...sure...a new Apex would have been cool...but disappointed?? NOT ME...some of you need to ride a 2011 or newer apex..before you comment on the 2016's...to me the 2016's are better sleds than what we already have..they are an improvement...and I look forward to reviews of these sleds...either way I'm keeping my xtx the next couple of years...I love it...when it's time to upgrade..it will be another Yamaha...and most likely another apex...if that makes me a blue goggle wearing fool...so be it....if you are disappointed maybe Yamaha isn't for you...so why be unhappy??? MOVE ON...if you don't like it.
