Just bought a pair of Nytro's that were in pieces that came from a rental company. Friend has little money and wanted to upgrade from his 90 something Polaris so I grabbed these to make one from.

The Mountain Nytro came from Yamaha with 8FS (VERY close to 8FP) and a Green/white/green spring. This one had over 15k miles on it and the weights actually had a horizontal ridge wore mid way in the weight they had so many miles. Sled sounded like it had a rod out in the engine the clutch was so loud. So I put a good set of 8FP weights and pins in it and almost all the clutch sound is gone.....even with all those miles. Sled is as strong at over 15k miles as our Vipers are so this engine just seems to get better!

So yeah the COTC takes the Nytro clutch setup and adds the primary clutch spring shims to adjust for the differences in the Viper. The heart, or the secret of the COTC is the high spring rate and low engagement speed caused by shimming the primary spring. I see one other kit out there doing this, expect others to follow.

Sounds like Nytro clutching... why do we post everything even if its not really Viper related into the Viper section??
